Wi-Fi Combo Forum Discussions
I am interested in the question of whether it is theoretically possible to use the bcm43438 chip on other frequencies than 2.4G and 5G, which is presumably equivalent to the question of whether the band filtering is done in hardware inside the chip, in software inside the chip or in hardware outside of it. I am fully aware of (and have no intention of ignoring) the separate regulatory issues, and equally so that the firmware would not support this. It might be helpful to state what is probably obvious: that I know more about hardware programming than about hardware assembly.
Thank you!
Show LessWorking with WICED-Studio-5.2, Win7, BCM94343WWCD1_EVB Evaluation
WICED Evaluation boards have a FTDI FT2232 chip which provides debug capability with USB to UART+JTAG.Sample source can download to the Board and run,add the build target to ‘snip.uart-BCM94343WWCD1-debug download’, but debugging of the snip.uart sample app on the BCM94343WWCD1_EVB always fails.
when Debugging failed even if you push F8,It will not respond to anything,Stop debugging and it will move properly。

Sometimes when Debugging success 、As shown below
How can solve the problem?
Show LessThe reason for asking this question is that I am looking for ways to reduce the power consumption of the reference board. I know about the power save mechanisms of the WiFi. I am looking for avenues other than the WiFi power save mechanisms. In the case that I am dealing with, the two WFi modules are in an ad hoc network configuration and are at a short distance ( 2 or 3 ft) from each other. So, the full transmit power of the WiFi is not necessary. IF the WICED API offers a mechanism to throttle the transmit power of the WiFi then that translates to power save and longer battery life.
Show LessWe are using BCM4343W as BLE Module and we are trying to scan for other BLE modules through our application. We found that the configuration of scan is available as a parameter of wiced_bt_stack_init() API. We have a requirement to dynamically change scan configuration from Passive to Active scan without re-initializing the WICED BLE stack.
Is there any alternate way or API's for setting the scan parameter in WICED without re-initializing the WICED BLE stack?

Will the CYW43353 be supported on WICED in the near future?
It will be very useful to use this chip with, for example, a cortex M7 microcontroller for high bandwidth / low power consumption application.
I hope someone could shed some light!
Thanks,
Abel.
Show LessDear Cypress,
CYW43909 Programmer’s Guide was mentioned in http://www.cypress.com/file/298231/download with document number: 002-15381
Please, provide the access to this file.
Thank you.
Show LessHi,
I am little confused about OTA of BCM4343W.
what I learn so far is ( kindly give response if I am wrong),
1) OTA(1) will work on BCM94343W_AVN and OTA2 is not supported by this module.
2) Only method supported by OTA(1) is through softAP and Http Server as mentioned in Doc.
I have different requirement,
(1) We have mobile app (android,iOS) for our product and I want to update firmware by that app only.
(1.1) If my 1st point is possible with OTA(1) then, is it possible that by modifying OTA_App device will not go to softAP mode but instead it stays connected to router's
AP as station and user is also connected to same AP so user will update device firmware from our mobile app.
(2) Is it possible to update firmware of BCM4343W by bluetooth if its possible than its best approach for me. our app will update application firmware of BCM4343W by BLE.
If there is source code already developed for this then thats good but if not then also, please let me know if its possible to have one of the above solution by modifying or creating source code.
Take your time but be sure about info on this.
Firmware upgrade by BLE will be good for us as our other end devices are communicating using BLE, BCM94343W_AVN we want to use fro bridge between BLE and and our Server on Cloud.
Thanks and Regards,

Show LessHello,
I want to manage the memory of my microcontroller STM32F415 (192k bytes SRAM including 64k bytes of CCM data RAM) with two features:
AMQP (~ 30k bytes required)
and
Bluetooth communication (~ 25k bytes required)
However after a test it is published that I do not have SRAM available in the microcontroller.
At the beginning of : void application_start (void), the available SRAM is close to 32k bytes.
So I have three questions:
1) "192k bytes SRAM including 64k bytes of CCM data RAM" does it mean the maximum SRAM available memory is 64k bytes or 192k ?
2) Can I reduce the SRAM required for AMQP or Bluetooth communication? And how if it's possible?
Or
3) Can I reduce SRAM used before the start of my project? And how if it's possible?
(The project uses RTOS: ThreadX and Network stack: NetXduo).
Show LessUsing WICED Studio 5.0. We have Ported driver based on STM32F4, We are facing problem of DMA fifo Error while firmware download.We are not getting Fifo underrrun error in SDMMC2_STA register.We examined the Fifo burst length which seems to be fine.Please help.
Here is code snippet,
/* DMA prepare transfer */
SDIO->DTIMER = (uint32_t) 0xFFFFFFFF;
SDIO->DLEN = dma_transfer_size;
SDIO->DCTRL = (uint32_t)sdio_get_blocksize_dctrl(block_size) | bus_direction_mapping[(int)direction] | SDIO_TransferMode_Block | SDIO_DPSM_Enable | (1 << 3) | (1 << 11);
/* DMA2 Stream0 */
DMA2_Stream0->CR = 0;
DMA2->LIFCR = (uint32_t) ( 0x3F );//( 0x3F << 22 );
DMA2_Stream0->FCR = (uint32_t) ( 0x00000021 | DMA_FIFOMode_Enable | DMA_FIFOThreshold_Full /*| (1<<7) fifo err */ );
DMA2_Stream0->PAR = (uint32_t) &SDIO->FIFO;
DMA2_Stream0->M0AR = (uint32_t) dma_data_source;
DMA2_Stream0->NDTR = dma_transfer_size/4;
/* Start DMA stream */
DMA2_Stream0->CR = (uint32_t)(DMA_DIR_MemoryToPeripheral |
DMA_Channel_11 | DMA_PeripheralInc_Disable | DMA_MemoryInc_Enable |
DMA_PeripheralDataSize_Word | DMA_MemoryDataSize_Word |
DMA_Mode_Normal | DMA_Priority_VeryHigh |
DMA_MemoryBurst_INC4 | DMA_PeripheralBurst_INC4 | DMA_SxCR_PFCTRL | DMA_SxCR_TCIE | DMA_SxCR_EN );
On execution of above step in SDIO IRQ,We are getting DMA FIFO error event bit set in DMA2_LISR register and transfer gets timedout.
