Hello All,

I would like to know if any pre-certified WICED Wi-Fi modules exists that can be directly used in a product.  We are using evaluation module but a ready module will be of great help.

Thank you,

Hello Gitesh,

Both Murata and Inventek produce pre-certified turn-key 802.11 b/g/n Wi-Fi modules based on Broadcom's BCM43362 and WICED SDK:

ISM43362-M3G-L44-E (FCC/IC/CE):

http://www.inventeksys.com/products-page/wifi-modules/serial-wifi/ism4336-m3g-l44-e-embedded-serial-...

The eS-WiFi series is available with an integrated microstrip antenna, but is also offered in a U suffix version with an external antenna using a built-in U.FL connector on the module.

SN8200 (FCC/IC/CE Compliant)

http://www.murata-ws.com/products/spec_sheet.php?type=SN820X 2.4GHz Wi-Fi 802.11b/g/n&record=12

The SN8200 also provides an on-board antenna and is also available with a U.FL connector for use with external antenna.

Both products utilize ST Micro STM32 based Cortex-M3 MCUs.

Follow the "Get a Kit" link on the website to see a list of our distribution partners in your area as they will be able to help with price/avaialibity for both modules.

It looks like Avnet has the 88-00151-00 SN8200 module in stock online:

Hi ... This is Dick Bates from Inventek:

Digi-Key has the Inventek/WICED module in stock also:  http://www.digikey.com/product-search/en?x=0&y=0&KeyWords=ism43362

and Arrow has stock:

http://parts.arrow.com/item/detail/inventek-systems/ism43362-m3g-evb-e#QFzE

You can use the module with the WICED SDK or our AT Commands running in your host micro.

Hello,

All the replies really helped. Thanks.  Pardon me for a layman's question - I want to know if the OTA update can be done on these modules without a need to connect a separate SPI flash (module evaluation boards have a external SPI flash and these boards support OTA).  Does OTA bootloader runs out of the external flash or does it run from Murata module's flash?

I am asking this because I am looking for a final solution assembled using these modules using as less components as possible.

Thanks,

-Gitesh

All modules from ACKme Networks can be OTA'd using on-board flash memory.

OTA comes as a standard option. An example module is:  AMW004

Thanks jasonrc.  But looks like OTA needs a external flash in the Broadcom board...

AMW004 has external flash on it I think.

Its internal and I think that really helps.

Correct dmiya.

AMW004 has 1MByte serial flash onboard the module in addition to the 1MByte flash inside the Atmel SAM4S microcontroller.

Didn't notice that, thanks for pointing it out.

This is the product page for the AMW004:

But here is the upper level landing page that shows a number of Wi-Fi modules:
