Just one question: May using the IIR filter will make the system unstable? I tried to use FIR windows but it is not doing the job ....

The IIR approach will work, but question is what was it about the FIR

   

that was not working ? What are the parameters of the BPF you want

   

to achieve ?

   

 

   

If stability are you concerned with step or impulse response ? That is a

   

result that occurs in a narrow band filter where its poles by necessity

   

are close to the jw axis, ie the real part of the pole location is relatively

   

small. Stated another way you are driving energy into a reactive network,

   

the imaginary part is a storage device, like L, C, and that energy gets re-

   

turned, whereas any energy encountering real part gets turned into heat.

   

The greater the real part the more dampened the transient.
