Question: What is the difference between CY22M1 and CY22U1?
Answer:
The CY22M1 and CY22U1 are both UniClocks with the main difference in Idd current values. The CY22M1 will be used for battery powered applications. So the “M” in the part number stands for More Battery Life. Accordingly there is a difference in the power supply current, the power down current remaining the same for both devices. Besides this we have the following differences:
For CY22M1: Programmable Single Output Clock Generator Frequency Range: 1 to 80 MHz with External Reference Clock: 1 to 80 MHz
For CY22U1: Programmable Single Output Clock Generator Frequency Range: 1 to 200 MHz with External Reference Clock: 1 to 166 MHz
The CY22M1 has an additional Programmable Output Buffer Drive Strength as a programmable feature that is not available with the CY22U1.
Rest both the devices have same specifications.
