For 4343W, I recommend PSOC as host controller since we have a lot of resources on it.
You can use other host controller also , but less supports compared with Psoc MCU in current release .
1. independently programmable?
2. portable with different microcontrollers (just by communicating through UART, SDIO etc.)?
3. whether it can be used as a standalone mcu+wireless module (or dedicated host is required for running network stacks)?
Currently, from what I know 4343W can't be used as standalone chip , but still you can get a confirmed answer from sales or marketing person. dedicated host is required for running network stacks , this is right .
Thank you very much for the clarification.
The environment is very power constrained so I can't afford a host (PSoC) and as well as 4343W. I'll look for a standalone chip like 43907 which has a Cortex-R4 + wireless in a single chip.
