    CY8CMBR3102 failing in bake oven?

    orfi_3740116

We are using the CY8CMBR3102 for (2) designs employing printed electronics.  Instead of soldering we use a silver epoxy.

The silver epoxy requires an oven cure at 70 degrees C for 1 hour.   We are using a calibrated laboratory oven.   The 3102 parts are inoperable after the oven cure.  Our failure rate is greater than 80%.   In many cases the failed parts are able to be programmed after the cure but the output stage is not functional.  We felt that sustained 70 -80 C was the failure mode.  Could it be that the part is sustaining ESD failure in the  bake oven?

          Hi,

Can you please attach the schematic as well as images of the oven cure set-up?

Can you please elaborate this more? Can you please send some images?

Do you mean that you are able to configure the MBR3102 part using I2C but they are not working? Can you use Ez-Click GUI to measure Raw counts, difference counts and send us screen shots.

Please note that the temperature test you are doing is may not induce ESD and the reason for failure may be different.

          Thanks

          Ganesh
