SC8802 is the bidrectional buck-boost regulator connected to the USB Type-C port.
For CYPD3171 (Power Bank application) this part receives power from VBUS input and it controls the power supplied to the battery.
The control signals are as follows:
>>PWM_I- Current setting for SC8802
>>EN - Enable SC8802
>>FB- Voltage regulation feedback pin, directly connected.
You can refer to the CCG3PA Evaluation Kit Guide for the schematics and description http://https://www.cypress.com/documentation/development-kitsboards/cy4532-ez-pd-ccg3pa-evaluation-kit
There is one more control signal:
>>DIR- It controls the charging and discharging direction control for SC8802.
Thank you very much for your reply.
From SC8802 datasheet, I can understand what you say.
I checked the schematics in case of PA(Power Adapter) and observed the signals.
[In case of PA (Power Adapter)] from SC8802QDER
DIR: 8802_DIR <- J9-1 <- J9-2 <- AXRES_P2.0 <- J10-15 || J11-15 <- CCG3PA_AXRES_P2.0 <- AXRES/P2.0
"High level with pull-up resistor:4.6V"
EN: 8802_EN <- J10-8 || J11-8 <- P1.1
"Low level with pull-up resistor:0V"
PWM: SC8802_PWM_V <- J11-20 || No connection
"High level because of pull-up resistor:4.2V"
IPWM:8802_PWM_I <- J10-12 || J11-12 <- P1.0
"approximately 4.5V with pull-up resistor"
FB1: FB1_88 <- 8802_FB <- J10-7 || J11-7 <- FB
A pulse occurs when we change the voltage.
1. from "5000mV, 3000mA" to "12000mV, 1000mA"
2. from "12000mV, 1000mA" to "5000mV, 3000mA"
Can the SC8802 set the voltage only with this?
Yes, this much (EN,DIR,PWM,IPWM,FB) should be enough for SC8802.
You can refer to the schematics for better understanding.
