Fine timer max interval/interrupt question?

I taught i had seen somewhere in the datasheet that the fine timer interval could be set as 1ms, but i can only seem to get 12ms at best?

I am trying to read a sensor running at 500hz(2ms)? I was trying to do it via the fine timer.

If i set up an interrupt, detecting the rise edge (new data when the interrupt rises), could the module handle been called every 2ms?

The highest resolution (soft) application timer is the 12.5 ms fine timer.
