Hello

I have some question about EMCA cable included in CCG3 EVK (CY4531 Ez-PD CCG3 Evaluation Kit).

Question#1. What is a type of the EMCA cable? (passive cable or active cable?)
Question#2. What is q'ty of CCG2 included in the EMCA cable? (1 or 2 devices?)
Question#3. Does the EMCA cable support Thundervolt?
Question#4. Does the EMCA cable support USB3.2 (10Gbps)? also, USB4?

Regards,
Jake

Hello Jake,

1. The cable is a passive EMCA cable.

2. The cable has one cable controller present, however it is not CCG2.

3. Yes, the cable can support Thunderbolt.

4. Since it is an EMCA cable, it can support USB 3.2. It is not compliant to USB 4.

Please check the VDM message for the cable in the CC trace if you would like to verify at your end.

Best Regards,

Sananya
