Hi,

I am using the 89459d0 chip which has fmac capability and the kernel we are using is 3.18.

So which driver should i use, fmac or dhd driver.?

What is dhd and fmac driver and what are its important functions(like what it does).

What are the difference between fmac and dhd driver.

And whether the power save mechanism like runtime PM, L1 and L1ss supported in fmac driver.

If it is not supported in fmac driver, can both the fmac and dhd driver be used at the same time?

89459 is an automotive device and the automotive devices leverage their own Linux release train.

The 54591 is the commercial equivalent, and this device is supported in the latest FMAC release here: Wi-Fi/Bluetooth for Linux

DHD is no longer supported for new designs, so reach out to your local Cypress sales team if that is a requirement.

Thanks Michael

Yes, I think we have CYW54591. So there are two terms used, bcm4359D0 and CYW54591. What does these two mean?

What are the importance of these  fmac and dhd driver and their differences?

Does FMAC driver has runtime PM support?
