      Hi CYPRESS memory support team

Thank you for your support always.I am Junya.

I have a question about Inrush Current Control.

      Excelon  LP 4-Mbit (512K x 8) Serial (SPI) F-RAM.

      CY15B104QN-50LPXI

      CY15B104QI-20LPXI

      https://www.cypress.com/file/444171/download

I checked the data sheet and found the following differences.

      ・ Inrush Current Control,

      ・ Power Cycle Timing,

      ・ (Frequency, Package Typ ..)

So I have the following questions:

      Question

      1. Is there any device difference other than the following?

Inrush Current Control, Power Cycle Timing, (Frequency Package Type)

      2. Control method of rush current control of CY15B104QI-20LPXI.

      3. Inrush current (I PEAK etc.) value of CY15B104QN-50LPXI.

4, the trend of inrush current control. Will CYPRESS use products with inrush current control in the future?

      Thank you.

          Hi,

For Q1, the device ID is also different.

For other questions, I will double check them and get back to you later.

          Best regards,

            1. Is there any device difference other than the following?

Inrush Current Control, Power Cycle Timing, (Frequency Package Type)

Answer: There is no functional difference between the two devices. However, due to Inrush current control, few DC current specs, power cycle timing (tPU) and frequency (up to 20 MHz) will vary.

            2. Control method of rush current control of CY15B104QI-20LPXI.

Answer: Excelon product has an internal controller to control the boot up sequence, test mode, and power controls. Control is not active during normal access. We are keeping the current under control during boot up by slowing down the controller clock to keep the current consumption lower (to keep IPEAK lower), thus slowing down the boot up sequence with increased tPU.

            3. Inrush current (I PEAK etc.) value of CY15B104QN-50LPXI.

Answer: It is confidential data and not suitable to discuss in the community.

4, the trend of inrush current control. Will CYPRESS use products with inrush current control in the future?

            Answer: Yes.
