Dear All,

DS ports of CYUSB3304 is USB3.0. If the US of CYUSB3304 is USB3.0, and the DS wants to be one USB3.0 and another USB2.0, can it work? Is there a performance impact?

Best Regards,

Ferris.

Hi Ferris,

The hub will receive USB 3.0 data from the camera on its USB 3.0 PHY for the port and route it to its USB 3.0 PHY on the upstream port.

On the other hand, the hub will receive USB 2.0 data from the port on its USB 2.0 PHY and route it to its USB 2.0 PHY on the upstream port. This is taken care by the routing logic and the two separate hub controllers in the hub. Please refer to the block diagram below from the datasheet.

For you question, yes, the hub can send both USB 3.0 and 2.0 data to the host based on what the device on the downstream port enumerates as and sends.

Hello Ferris,

Yes that will work since the upstream port is capable of supporting USB 3.0 and there no performance issue even with all the downstream ports configured as USB 3.0 ports. You could set any port as USB 2.0 or USB 3.0 as per your requirement.

Dear Sananya,

Can CYUSB3304 output USB3.0 and USB2.0 at the same time?
