Is there any difference other than the part number between S29PL127J70BFI040 and S29PL127J70BFI000?
Cypress has EOL'd the 00 Model Number from the S29PL-J line of 110nm Parallel NOR Flash parts.
The 04 Model Number appears to still be valid.
Cypress' spec for the S29PL-J does NOT list a 00 Model Number.
Spansion's spec for the S29PL-J lists the 00 Model Number as "3.0V VIO, 80-ball 8 x 11 mm FBGA (VBG080)"
Cypress' spec for the S29PL-J lists the 04 Model Number as "3.0V VIO, 80-ball 11 x 8 mm FBGA (VBG080)"
Other than the order of the package dimensions (8x11 versus 11x8) I can find no difference between these parts.

Hello Greg,
Thank you for contacting Cypress Semiconductor.
Yes, the Model Numbers have been modified to reflect some changes to the product offering.
The S29PL129J (128Mb) device was deleted from the Ordering Information. Therefore in regards
to the Model Numbers, Model "04" is equal to that of model "00". The package dimension, ball
count and ball assignments are identical for both Model "00" and ,Model "04", as there is no
difference.
Hope this helps...
Best regards,
Albert
