Read protect of Configuration Table

Hello,

Can I make [User Parameter] of EZ-PD Configuration Utility unreadable?

The designer uses the EZ-PD Configuration Utility to write any user information to [User Parameter].

So, [User Parameter] is information that the user wants to keep confidential to other companies.

After writing [User Parameter], manipulate some flags to prevent this setting data from being read, or mask the data (All 0).

Is that possible?

I am afraid that EZ-PD Configuration Utility does not have data protection feature.

You can program all the information of EZ-PD Configuration Utility to the FW. Then, they can provide only the programmed device or only hex file to the other company. This procedure is help to protect the information of being set on the EZ-PD Configuration Utility.

You are right. As a result, there is no way to mask parameters for EZ-PD Configuration Utility.

Consequently, I mentioned following way to you earlier.

For this device, CC boot-loader  is programmed.

Even if a FW with a user parameter set is written, isn't it possible to read the user parameter with EZ-PD Configuration?

Japanese: 実はこのデバイスに、CC Boot-loaderが書き込まれています。(これはカスタムFWです。)

　　　　　その為、FWにUser parameterを設定しても、CCからEZ-PD Configuration Utilityで中の設定データは分かってしまうのでは

As a matter of fact that devices cannot protect any sniffering from strangers.

In this case as well, there is a possibility that strangers sniffer the parameters.

今回いただいた要求を元に保護機能の実装を社内でリクエストしますが、2019年現在、この機能はないことをご理解いただけますと幸いです。
