Hello,
I'm using PSoC 5LP Prototyping Kit CY8CKIT-059.
In this module, I want to use the some GPIOs as below assignment:
- P0_2 : DAC
- P0_3 : ADC
- P0_4 : DAC
- P0_5 : ADC
- P1_3 : PWM
- P3_1 : DAC
- P3_2 : ADC
- P12_6 : DAC
- P12_7 : ADC.
I have three questions:
1) If I remove the bypass capacitors, does the module move nomally?
2) Can I use P12_6 and P12_7 as GPIO?
3) I don't know the reason why I can't use P1_3 as PWM port.
Could you explain how to use P1_3 as PWM port?
Thank you.
Yuya

Shimoda-san,
1) If I remove the bypass capacitors, does the module move nomally?
Yes. the module can move, but may not guarantee its normal work. There may be larger noise when the cap removed. Please refer the description about bypassed cap installing in ADC component datasheet:
2) Can I use P12_6 and P12_7 as GPIO?
Yes. You can use both these two pins as GPIO.
3) I don't know the reason why I can't use P1_3 as PWM port.
Please try go to [Project_Name].cydwr -> Tab-System -> Debug Select row -> select GPIO for this item. Then you can you Pin1.3 for PWM
Thanks,
Ryan

Dear Ryan,
Thank you for your lot of useful comments!
1) If I remove the bypass capacitors, does the module move nomally?
Yes. the module can move, but may not guarantee its normal work. There may be larger noise when the cap removed.
Resolved. Thank you.
2) Can I use P12_6 and P12_7 as GPIO?
Yes. You can use both these two pins as GPIO.
I want to use P12_6 and P12_7 for IDAC and ADC pin, but I can't select these pins in cydwr window.
3) I don't know the reason why I can't use P1_3 as PWM port.
Please try go to [Project_Name].cydwr -> Tab-System -> Debug Select row -> select GPIO for this item. Then you can you Pin1.3 for PWM
Resolved. Thank you.
best regards,
Yuya
