Dear Sir/Madam

Could you please give a detailed decription about the function of CCG3PA PAD19? I can not find it from present CCG3PA technical materials.  In demo "PB-808B(CCG3PA+SC8915+SC8902A*_Sch V1.1 20180921"  pad19 is connected to type-C connector shielding ground and then through a 5mR res to board ground. I wander what the function of 5mR is?May I cancel 5mR because it is so big?

Thanks and Best regards

MaYue

Hi MaYue,

The function of PIN CSP and 5mR resistor is to do Over Current Proection(OCP). If you do not use this pin then CCG3PA will lose OCP feature.

In addition, the PPS function will also be lost.

Hi Eddie

          ok,understood.

But I think 2W Power consumption for 5mR shunt resistor is too big because even if current goes up to 5A Power on 5mR is only 125mW. a 0805 package resistor is enough. How do you think of it?

Thanks and Best regards
