Hi  Cypress:

    when we design the  Proximity function of psoc4 , what should we do  the  add the  ESD/EMI Protection Design with intercom test?

when i use cy8ckit-042 & cy8ckit-024, it can't pass the intercom test, so do you have any advise to deal with intercom test, or use

cyckit-042 & cy8ckit-024 kit to add somthing to pass the intercom test,tks;

Hi David,

Proximity is very sensitive with environment changing, hard to pass some extreme ESD/EMI test.

In most cases, users need to make a trade off between sensitivity and noise immunity performance.

ESD and EMI are different test.

For ESD, larger serial resistance of sensor, adding TVS for sensors, using thick overlay, increasing GND layout will be good for ESD test. And customer design's structure will be another important factor for ESD test.

For EMI, using PRS clock, decreasing size of proximity sensor and shield will be good for electromagnetic interference.

But...As you know, all above steps may cause lower proximity distance...  For different customer designs, it may require more custom analysis...
