Hi,

out customer mother board has USB Type-C supporting multiple PD profiles which we are trying to test.

I have successfully set up the CCG3 to emulate a 5V, 12V and 20V client. The protocoll part works fine. But we want to test whether our mother board can really deliver the required max current  of 2 A.

Can I safely connect a programmable DC load to connector J7 on the CCG3EVK base board, forcing the motherboard to deliver enough current or can this kill the CCG3 board?

i.e. does the CCG3EVK pass the load current from the SUB Type-C connector through to J7 or is the high current of 2A a problem for the CCG3EVK?

Thanks,

Charles
