I want to use USB-C PD3 as the primary power supply for my product(upstream facing port that Sinks power). When using a Powerbank as the source of power, via a USB-C cable, sometimes they will shut down the USB outlet power when current draw falls below a certain level. When this happens, you must unplug and re-insert the connector to wake up the port, not ideal for my application.
I just hooked up my CY4521 evaluation kit to the powerbank and it performs as I would like, keeping the USB-C running (always on) without delivering much current to the port. I am starting my PCB layout now and want to make sure that my implementation will also perform this way (always on) and want to know if there is a software/firmware setting to disable/enable this behavior?

Hi John,
The part number for your design, any Cypress Type-C power delivery chip with Rd terminate can be used. In order to more easy to develop firmware (the firmware example have release in CCG SDK), CYPD2122 with notebook example code. CYPD3120 with C to DP example code. CYPD3171 with PB example code is convenience for you.
The SDK download link:http://www.cypress.com/documentation/software-and-drivers/ez-pd-software-development-kit?source=sear...
Please review the user guide of SDK after you installed it.
Best Regards,
Lisa
