When the host sends a connection update request to the controller, the controller can accept or reject the request. I am assuming that the values are rejected when you set the CE length to 0 because of which it is using default length and receiving all the packets.
Unfortunately, there is no documentation regarding this.
By the way, what is the reason you want to change the CE length?
thanks a lot for yourt answer. i agree with your comments, but i expect that the controller, in case the ce length parameter is not considerd as a valid value, it rejects the connection update, but keeps the same connection parameters it was using, and not changes them to their default values as you, like me, are asumming.
The reason is that i found that there are some BCM43438-based devices in which the min/max CE length on the connection parameters associated to the connection and/or update request are set to 0x01 by default, so limiting the maximum number of packets sent per connection interval.
