      Hi Krishna,

       

      Please advise why the set top box cannot boot after we used S29GL128P11FFIS40 to replace S29GL128P10FFIS10. The both of the parameter is very similar after compared with the spec, is it possible to adjust the software to make it working?

          Can you provide more details about the issue you are facing like error you are getting. Are you able to read the device IDs of the flash ?

            The device are not able read the device IDs of the flash after we usedS29GL128P11FFIS40 to replace S29GL128P10FFIS10,S29GL128P10FFIS10 is working for the device. Isthat some quality issue about S29GL128P11FFIS40 or software?

              How many S29GL128P11FFIS40 devices did you test. If all devices are showing the same issue then it might not be device issue.

              Please confrim how many devices did you test.

                We used 5pcsS29GL128P11FFIS40 for the 5pcs set top box, 5pcs set top boxes cannot boot.

                  The initial access time of the two parts are different.

                  S29GL128P10FFIS10: 100ns

                  S29GL128P11FFIS40: 110ns

                   

                  If your set top box is configured for 100ns access time, it cannot read from S29GL128P11FFIS40 which requires 110ns.

                    Thank you for your feedback, is it possible to adjust the speed with a software on the set top box or any better method? So thatS29GL128P11FFIS40 will be applied to the same device.

                      In general, the host memory controller in SoCs can be configured to adjust access time by software. It depends on the SoC you use. Please refer to the SoCs manual or contact to the SoC vender's support.

                          Hi Jennifer,

                           

                          The setup must be done in SoC (chipset, or host side, in other words), not in Flash memory. Please ask it to SoC vendor.
