I see there is a way to set the advertisement channel mask. How could a scanning channel mask be done for a central device?

btta is correct. According to the bluetooth spec, scanning shall use all the advertising channels. So you cannot select channels for scanning unlike advertisement where you can select the channels.

In another word, are you trying to limit scanning to only one particular advertising channel? My understanding is that this is actually disallowed for scanning.

I thought maybe you could because there are mask bits you can set in other cypress BLE chips to do this.

It is probably correct but I will wait a bit to see if anyone knows of a way to do it despite the specification.
