Hi,

is it possible that the SPI interface can work in future with GPIF 32bit Mode with a SDK update or does the FX3 design never allow this combination?

Hello,

SPI will not work with GPIF II 32-bit mode. More information on supported combinations can be found in the FX3 datasheet, which can be found in the main website.

Thanks,

Can you tell me why this is not possible? Also, if this cannot be done, what peripheral is available for low spped communication if the GPIF is used in 32 but synchronous mode?

The other 3 low speed peripherals should be available. The SPI not being available is a hardware limitation.
GPIF II Designer makes it a point to give a pop-up when SPI and 32-bit are set together.

Hi,

Is also all above  true in case I am using SPI interface for boot only(connected to SPI Eeprom)?

Thank you

The loss of SPI functionality is due to FX3 being configured for 32-bit GPIF by the firmware. During boot the GPIF-II is not configured so you should be able to use the SPI for boot.

 Yes,

But then one can't have remote FW upgrade.

I am not sure that "works" is correct system wise.

Good luck

Hello,

SPI can still be used/worked in a GPIF 32bit mode design with GPIO mode as in the UsbSpiGpioMode example, can't it?

Yes. It works if you have enough GPIOs (max 4) free in your application.
