A: Yes, it is possible to drive a stepper motor using PSoC 1. "AN2197-Stepper Motor Driver for Smart Gauges" - http://www.cypress.com/?rID=2638 provides details on how to use PSoC 1 to drive a low-power stepper motor for smart pointer gauges.
