The manufacture of the module found that in some use cases that the 10K resistor was required externally to prevent errors during boot. Because we could not pin point all the use cases where it would be required, we ask that customers provide the external pull-up as a preventative measure.
As long as P1 is kept high during boot time, can it be used as a regular input post-boot?
While the WICED Smart Hardware Interfaces guide states that the pin is available, this guide was written primarily with the SoC in mind.
Unfortunately, the SIP module uses P1 for EEPROM WP, so its unavailable on the SIP module.
