i need to use CY8C38 Processor module without development board. is it possible??

   

i need to use only gpio pin.

Yes, but you need to suply the obvious -

   

 

   

1) Power

   

2) Clocks, xtals if external used

   

3) Debug/program interface header to use Miniprog3 if thats what

   

you plan on using.

   

 

   

Consult module schematic for necessary connections. Also CY8CKIT-001

   

motherboard schematic. To see what interface was implemented with

   

the processor module.

Small correction: the crystals are already on the module (or can be added there), no need to have theme external. You really need all 4 headers since each one has one of the Vddio power rails (and they must either be used or connected to ground). There are non-populated resistors to connect them together, that might work to.

   

I think you can get the connectors from Samtec as samples (RSM lines, 32 pins).

You are right hli, I never noticed xtals underside of module. The LF xtal

   

would be easy to replace, but the 24 Mhz looks like a challenge, the

   

way it was assembled.

They are Gerbers, Eagle will open them, just google "open gerber files

   

eagle", you will get a few hits.

AFAIK there is no (free) support for importing ORCAD files into Eagle.
