GX3 on Ubuntu 12.04

I have the CY4701 GX3 reference design kit.  After downloading and installing the drivers it appears to work with USB 3.0 ports only.  When plugged into a USB 2.0 port it doesn't power up at all.  Is this supposed to work on a USB 2.0 port?

Hello Mike,

   

It is supposed to work on USB 2.0 port as well. 

   

How are you making sure that it is getting powered or not? If you are looking for the GREEN LED on the board, it will not glow as it indicates only USB 3.0 connection. Please check using "lsusb" command whether the device got detected or not.
