Hello,
I would like to use I2C for communication between my PSoC 4 chip and accelerometer with 1.8V supply (logic level). I am not sure if I need use a level shifter or they can be connected directly. Would like to use 2.7V supply for the PSoC.

The PSoC4 has no capability to run the IO ports on another voltage. So you need a level translator.

I think the CMOS 1.8v threshold option for the GPIO input should help here. Create a tech support case with Cypress and see what they have to say.
