Hi,
I've been trying to upgrade firmware of my CY8CKIT-044 from 2.12 to 2.18
but somehow I have not been able to do it.
I'm using
CY8CKIT-044,
PSoC Creator v4.0 Update 1
Bridge Control Panel version 1.16.0.2791
PSoC Programmer 3.26.0.2791
on Windows 7 Professional (64bit) with 8.00GB RAM
What I've been trying is to follow the PSoC 101 Video Tutorial 10. I2C Receive with CY8CKIT-044.
Previously I had no problem with CY8CKIT-042.
This time, after building/downloading the PSoC program,
I tried to connect it from Bridge Control Panel version 1.16.0.2791
and got following error message
===========
To update your firmware please close Bridge Control Panel and open PSoC Programmer.
Navigate to the Utilities tab and click upgrade firmware.
Failed on Close port!
===========
So I closed the Bridge Control Panel and opened PSoC Programmer 3.26.0.2791
It says
"KitProg version Expecting 2.18, but found 2.12."
==========
This programmer is currently out of date.
To update the firmware please navigate to the
Utilities Tab and press the Update Firmware
button
==========
So I selected "Utilities" Tab and pushed "Upgrade Firmware" button.
==============
KitProg Version 2.12
Succeeded
Verifying...
Upgrading...
Initializing...
==============
The good news is that the process completed and green "PASS" is displayed.
The bad news is that the firmware version is still 2.12.
Question:
Would someone teach me how I can update the firmware of CY8CKIT-044 from 2.12 to 2.18?
Best Regards,

Dear Bob-san,
Thanks for your suggestion and the help of the Technical Support,
now I can use Bridge Control Panel with my CY8CKIT-044.
What was found is (at least in my environment),
Bridge Control Panel 1.16.0 which require the firmware version 2.18 does not work with CY8CKIT-044
so I uninstalled the PSoC Programmer, this includes the Bridge Control Penal 1.16.0,
and downloaded CY8CKIT044Setup_RevSA.exe from
and Installed the kit by running CY8CKIT044Setup_RevSA.exe.
Now the Bridge Control Panel is 1.13.0, which modestly requires firmware 2.12,
and it is working fine with my CY8CKIT-044.
So as for this case, my problem is solved, I just wonder what I should do
in case I encounter a board/MCU which requires newer Bridge Control Panel though.

I just tried the same with a -43 kit and it worked. I would suggest you to reboot your PC and try again with PSoC Programmer.

Dear Bob-san,
Thank you very much for your suggestion and taking pain of trying it at your site.
Although I think I've done this (rebooting my PC) several times,
I've just rebooted my PC and connected my CY8CKIT-044
and Started the PSoC Programmer 3.26.0 (picture 1)
Then after dismissing the Warning! dialog,
I selected the "Utilities" tab. (picture 2).
And selected the "Upgrade Frimware" button.
After a while, it reported "Firmware Update Finis..." and
result was "Succeeded"
Then the good old "Kit Prog Version 2.12" string was displayed. orz
IMHO, The PSoC Programmer has been doing its work OK,
but the firmware file referred is wrong (or old).
I wonder if is/are there way to verify the firmware and its version
which PSoC Programmer is referring?
Best Regards,

FYI, I have just uninstalled the PSoC Programmer
and download PSoC Programmer and installed it again with "Complete" option.
And I tried to update the firmware... but in vain.

Fine that you got it working Moto-san.
I am quite sure that Cypress will fix that issue in the next time.
