I'm working with a board that uses a LX1 module for wifi. The wifi works, but the WL_REG_ON pin is connected to a pin on the fpga. Even though the fpga pin holds it hi, when the fpga reloads, the line drifts low. This leads to the wifi  unit turning off and not restarting. (I know about the driver bug and the end goal is not have the line go low).

In the description of the pin, it says the pull down can be turned off in software. I cannot find anything that documents how you would do this though. I looked at the source for the Linux driver, and nothing jumps out at me as a way to do this fro the driver.

How do I disable to pull down on the WL_REG_ON line via "software"?

Hi,

You could not change the configuration of WL_REG_ON pin via software.

But, we could controlling this pin via device tree with Linux driver as brcmfmac or bcmdhd.

Please refer following information.

Linux Device Tree - FMAC

This does not answer my question. The documentation says the chip can turn off the pull down. I need to know how to that, not how to create a device tree entry for the pin that drives the signal.

If the pull down is not configurable, can you change the documentation to reflect that?

Hi Philip,

Thank you for your reply.

I found same description on original datasheet of CYW4343W page12 Table 2.

https://japan.cypress.com/documentation/datasheets/cyw4343w-single-chip-80211-bgn-macbasebandradio-b...

Following description mean programming on OTP(One time programmable) memory.

"it can be disabled through programming" for WL_REG_ON and BT_REG_ON.

If you want to modify these pins configuration on OTP, could you contact HW AE of Cypress,

or could you create new MyCase Technical Support for how to OTP programming for WL_REG_ON.

I think these OTP information may not provided on the community site.

Regards,

Matayoshi

How do i open a mycase technical support? I do not have a FAE and it is not clear how to contact one.

Still do not have the technical support pick in my cases. I really need to sort this out, a deadline is approaching!
