We have made a board with CYW43438 with imx6ull. We are now done the pre-compliance test for CE. We have seen that the RF adaptivity test is going to fail.

I have attached a test report.

Please let me know if I am doing some mistakes here?

For our set up and commands please refer below link.

The adaptivity failure is because signal transmissions could be observed after the interferer is on. One possibility is that the WLAN radio is trying to perform active scanning to connect to AP. You can add wl scansuppress 1 in your wl command sequence to disable the same. Let us know the results.

Dear,

Please, see the last 2 page of word file that i attatched here you can see that signal transmission is stop. It is now not communicate with the router. RF Adaptivity.png

As I can see it the behaviour of the radio is short signaling that means it send some ACK/NACK signal after the transmission is stopped. See above image.

As per the ETSI 300328 standard it fails as value of duty cycle is <10%. but now practically we get 19.89%. Can you please give some commands or utility so it can pass?

As per your suggestion in previous reply if I have add a command wl scansuppress 1 then it stops transmission.

And if it stop transmission then we can not (we not able to perform test) able add interference and noise signal from CMW500 instruments.

As this test is perform only if transmission is on.(As during transmission if add noise and interference signal then it must be stop the transmission (0% duty cycle of transmission or ack signals and the value of ack signal duty cycle will be<10% then it will pass this test)

Please advice how we can pass this test?

Which WLAN firmware is being used here? If it is production firmware, can you share the NVRAM file? If it is mfgtest, what is the value of wl phy_ed_thresh set to?

Dear,

Based on below thread i used both the firmware production and manufacturing both for the same test. Still it fails.

Unable to test wifi adaptivity with iperf utility

I used below commands with threshold value -70 see the orange marked command

ifconfig wlan0 up

sleep 3

wl down

sleep 1

wl mpc 0

sleep 1

wl glacial_timer 0x7fffffff

sleep 1

wl country ALL

sleep 1

wl band b

sleep 1

wl 2g_rate -h 0 -b 20

sleep 1

wl up

sleep 1

wl phy_watchdog 0

sleep 1

wl scan

sleep 3

wl scanresults

sleep 1

wl join D-Link_DIR-524

sleep 3

wl ssid

sleep 1

wl scansuppress 1

sleep 1

wl phy_forcecal 1

sleep 1

wl reassoc D-Link_DIR-524

sleep 1

sleep 1

ifconfig

sleep 1

wl phy_ed_thresh -70

sleep 1

wl channel 11

sleep 1

iperf -c 192.168.1.100 -u -b 5m -l 60000 -i 1 -t 10000

I also tested with below thresold

wl phy_ed_thresh -60

wl phy_ed_thresh -65

wl phy_ed_thresh -50

I also used another linux based command

edonthd40=-70

edoffthd40=-92

edonthd20u=-86

edonthd20l=-86

edoffthd20ul=-92

Please find the attached NVRAM file for AP6212. We have used AP6212 module from the ampak that contains 43438.

Please ensure that you use wl country FR/0 and not ALL. Adaptivity mechanism had been enabled in the former. And also ensure that mfgtest firmware is used for testing.

More details of failure would help:

1) Did the join succeed?

2) Could you try pinging iperf server to see if  you can reach it.

3) There is no iperf traffic passing through or there is none?
