Wi-Fi Combo Forum Discussions
Hi. I working on video streaming based on CYW43907 in Soft AP mode. Unfortunately current WICED release does not support 802.11n in Soft AP mode. So i want to know, whether future releases will support this?
Hi. Is it possible start Soft AP on 5GHz Band?
I found function wwd_wifi_set_preferred_association_band, but it set band only for Station interface.
Show LessHi. I have project with CYW43907 and STM32 for RTSP/RTP video streaming. Video data comes from STM32 by SDIO. Then JPEG frame send to smartphone over UDP socket. By I have some lags. I find that allocation new UDP packet (wiced_packet_create_udp_no_wait) sometimes has long duration.
I use FreeRTOS+LwIP combo. Maybe someone can give me advice how optimize memory allocation for real time streaming?
Show LessWe are using LBEE5KL1DX Module with external antenna. Due to design and space constraints we are unable to use PCB antenna design used by LBEE5KL1DX Module for FCC ID and leverage the same ID in our application. Because of this we need to update the power table or power limits in NVRAM file to pass FCC limits with external antenna. Also we need to generate NVRAM file with updated power limits and program in the device.
Does Cypress has the utility to update Tx power in CYW4343W during FCC compliance testing and generate NVRAM file? Also kindly provide steps to flash NVRAM file in the device.

Show LessI use scan result to pass to the "wwd_wifi_join_specific" call, but this call fails with reasons like:
"1024: Failed to find network",
"1006: Failed to authenticate",
1023, 1025 etc.
I have enabled WWD prints to log the status and attached it in this post.
What could be the reason this join specific call fails so many times before succeeding? Is there a way to reduce this failure rate?
The errors like failed to find network and failed to authenticate don't seem right since the network is clearly available as it is being passed the result of scan call and the passkey is correct as it eventually succeeds[but takes many many tries].
This is in contrast to wiced_network_up call that usually succeeds pretty quickly on the same network. But that is usually called on first boot up
Show LessHi
We are looking to update one of our existing products with WiFi & Bluetooth and would prefer an USB interface.
Are there any reference designs available for either the CYW4339 or CYW4356?
Show LessHi,
I am using the CYW43012 (or more specifically the Murata Type 1LV module) for a product where the CYW43012 operates as a central and connects to a peripheral, but I cannot get discovery of the characteristics of the peripheral working.
Where can I find some examples or documentation for this? The API documentation does not provide enough information on all the events and functions to be useful.
All the examples I have found just use hard-coded characteristic handles, but I don't want to do that unless I can guarantee that the handles will never change.
I would also like to get the central connecting to the peripheral with "Just Works" LE security (pairing with no bonding), but again there are no useful examples and no useful documentation for this. Please can someone point me in the right direction?
regards,
Charles
Show LessI have the STM32MP157C-DK2 eval kit which has a Murara BEE5KL1DX-883 module. The Murata module incorporates the CYW4343W. According to Murara the module can support Bluetooth mesh as the host OS is Linux and it uses BlueZ 5.50. My problem is that I don't fully believe the answer as I can find no data anywhere on this site or the web that says that the device is capable or that anybody has ever tried! I am planning on using the module in a custom design as then I will need minimal changes to the hardware and Linux OS (i.e. I will copy their design so that I can avoid low level changes to Linux). My knowledge of Bluetooth\BLE\mesh is pretty low so I need confidence that as the device is BLE compliant, that Linux\BlueZ can handle everything else and it will be able to talk to other mesh devices ok?
Show LessWiFi chipset Cypress43455 is used with MX8Mmini. This particular chipset supports both AP/ST mode simultaneously. We changed the wpa_supplicant ,hostapd.conf and udhcpd.conf file .wlan0 for ST mode and wlan1 for AP mode.
