Wi-Fi Combo Forum Discussions
I have a device that I'm testing against, which is broadcasting beacons at 1Mbps, and my application on CYW43907 is not receiving them. It's capturing beacons from all other sources that I've tried just fine, but capturing these in Wireshark, I can see that they're all transmitted at 6Mbps. The device I'm missing also shows up when I sniff it - so it does broadcast 🙂
I suspect that maybe my application is not setting up the chip to use 802.11b rates, but I can't figure out how to do this.
I've found APIs to enable/disable 802.11n, but nothing for b.
I experimented with wwd_wifi_set_legacy_rate(WWD_STA_INTERFACE, 2), but it didn't make a difference - and other posts in the forum indicate that this may be AP only.
Any suggestions? Both on how to check the current supported rates in my app, and how to change them.

Hi all -
I've been given the task of maintaining a very old application built upon WICED 2.4.1. I'd like to use the function wwd_wifi_abort_scan() to terminate a call to wiced_wifi_scan_networks(), but my IDE doesn't find it. Can someone tell me where to locate it, or alternatively, another way of terminating the scan?
Thanks...
Show LessHi guys, in our project we use both cyw43907 and cyw54907 with the shared code. But we want to detect if current chip type is cyw43907 or cyw54907 to show in hardware info. So do we have API or something to get the current chip type and make sure if it is cyw43907 or cyw54907?
Show LessHi,
I want to understand something
when I get 1025 - INVALID_JOIN_STATUS - what can I do to cause it to connect??
When I get 1006 - NOT_AUTHENTICATED- and I am sure that the password its correctly, what I can do?
I have an embedded platform of BLE and WiFi combo (CYW4343W) with ST32F4xx CPU. I need to perform some of Bluetooth test over the platform to go to Bluetooth SIC certificate process.
I am currently working with SDK WICED-Studio-6.6, and
- An app mfg_test, 43xxx_Wi-Fi/apps/test/mfg_test
- BLE library, 43xxx_Wi-Fi/libraries/drivers/bluetooth/mfg_test
- Host utility, wl tool, 43xxx_Wi-Fi/libraries/test/wl_tool/wl4343WA1.exe
However, this seems to test WiFi (802.11 system) only, and "WICED manufacturing user guide" lists commands all WiFi related.
Here is my question, can I perform Bluetooth test with above app and utility? If not, are there any app and/or utilities available? The mfg_test app can run with WMBT in ModusToolbox?
Any sources, documents or comments are welcome.
Show LessHi,
We have a requirement to control BLE Tx Power in our application running in advertisement mode.
We need your help in decreasing the BLE Tx Power on the BCM43012 module in advertisement mode.
It will be better if we have a command to dynamically change the BLE Tx Power.
If the BLE Tx Power is always Fixed per HCD file then please share with us the HCD files with different power levels.
Below are the required Tx Power levels.
1. With -15dBm
2. With -18dBm
3. With -20dBm
Attaching the HCD file that is currently used on our board (BCM43012C0.1LV.hcd.zip).
Please let us know if you need any more details.

Show LessHello.
In a previous post I read that I can use TopJTAG Flash Programmer to drive ARM-USB-TINY-H From Olimex, so
I've bought ARM-USB-TINY-H and I've downloaded TopJTAG Flash Programmer for evaluation.
I've installed TopJTAG Flash Programmer.
After running TopJTAG Flash Programmer I went to "Setup>>JTAG Connection".
In this window I selected "Connection: Generic FTDI FT2232" and "Static pins: Olimex ARM-USB-OCD".
But, when I click the green refresh button at the right of "Static pins", the software doesn't see the attached ARM-USB-TINY-H From Olimex
My machine is Windows 10 Pro 64x and in the device manager I see my ARM-USB-TINY-H From Olimex
to install OLIMEX I've used zadig 2.5
Show LessWe have a platform that uses WICED Version 3.7.0-7. AN STM32F469 processor uses the WiFi/BT module LBEE5KL1DX. We're able to bond with and connect and reconnect to a BTLE 4.0 keyboard without issues. When we do the same with the same model of keyboard that uses BTLE 5.0, we're able to bond with and connect with the keyboard, but upon re connection, the firmware crashes. From the debugger, it seems to be crashing in a pee-compiled module we have: BTE_low_energy.FreeRTOS.LwIP.ARM_CM4.release.a.
Our belief is that something in the firmware is not handling BT 5.0 events correctly and is causing the firmware crash. But it isn't easy to tell what's going on in the project and the .a file is a bit of a mystery too. Are there any clues as to where to look for this issue? Is there perhaps an updated version of WICED or an updated driver file we should be using?
Show LessRegararding: WICED 6.1 won't install - continually asks to choose a different location
FWIW I can install it on macOS but it won't run. Very annoying.
Apart from the ridiculous installer (which is not Retina compatible and follows many bad practises like asking for a password), the totally bogus default installation location, I'm only getting a ton of non-saying error messages in a log I locations that's annoying to get to, it goes something like this...

Show LessEnvironment and SDK information:
WICED version: 6.4
Wi-Fi Module: Murata Type1GC
Wi-Fi connection(to wireless LAN AP) is lost immediately after 11 hours past with WPA3-SAE.
We think it was caused due to Wi-Fi module is down. It's not disconnected by wireless AP.
And we have already tried other wireless LAN AP from several vendors, and we confirmed that the same issue was reproduced in every case.
However, if we choose WPA2-PSK, the issue doesn't happen. Wi-Fi connection is still alive after 11 hours past.
Do you have any solutions to this issue?
