Wi-Fi Combo Forum Discussions
WiConnect is an easy to use API built on top of WICED available on all ACKme Networks modules
Having the latest firmware on your module is key to ensuring you are evaluating the latest feature set available in WiConnect.
The reference manual for WiConnect can be found here: http://wiconnect.ack.me
Upgrading firmware is very straight forward
- Open your terminal emulator (such as Teraterm)
- Configure the terminal emulator's serial port (115200, 8, n, 1)
- Configure the terminal emulator's terminal (CR+LF)
- Configure the network setting if not already done <setup cmd>
- Initiate the OTA update (Over the Air) <ota>

Show LessIPAD mini2 version is 7.1.1. WR842N wifi is working in BGN mixed, channel and bandwith auto. IPAD mini2 send cooee setup packets. WICED can't capture any cooee packets. I use MACBook Air to capture these cooee packet. Plase check the attachment file 43362-cannot-monitor-11n.pcapng. You can open this file by wireshark. From the captured packets, data rate is 144.4 Mbps. I checked on IEEE 802.11n-2009 - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia, this data rate means MCS index 15, with 2 spatial streams, HT20, modulation type is 64-QAM. The cooee document say wifi must working in bgn mode, 1x1 and 20Mhz. Does that mean WICED can't capture these type of packets? Is it possible to configure 43362 to capture these packets? Or is there any method to configure IOS and Android send wifi packet in 1x1 mode?
Thanks

Show LessHi!
I'm using a config AP as a way to set up credentials to join a specifc AP. Just like snip/config_mode. The problem I have is that the config AP doesn't show up when I scan for Wi-Fi networks on various devices. snip/config_mode behaves the same (doesn't show up). The example snip/APSTA works which lead me to try to join a specific AP first then start the config AP and I could find and connect to the config AP. Now is it only possible to get a config AP up running when one already has a connection to an external AP? I'm using WICED 2.4.1 and Murata sn8205 module which contains a STM32F205RGT6 with a BCM43362 wifi chip.
Greatful for any help/suggestions.

Show LessHi,
I am using Murata's SN8200x wifi module and WICED-SDK-2.4.0. The module acts as STA client. I need to configure SSID and password of my wireless router in module on the run without hardcoding them in the code. Also I should be able to change them as required without reflashing.
I am aware there is a wiced_configure_device() function which make module as AP initially to allow us to set the ssid and password.
But this seems to be inefficient. If there are many modules, connecting to each module and setting the details is tiresome.
Can you suggest a way to do this efficiently ?
Thanks.
Show LessHi
Any app I try to debug with Eclipse fails when calling wiced_bus_init.
The same app works perfectly when just downloading it and running it.
Only a few times out of hundreds of tries it worked with the debugger.
I use the Broadcom BCM943362WCD4 evaluation board.
Any ideas how to solve this?
Thanks
