Wi-Fi Combo Forum Discussions
Hi,
I want to develop a dynamic HTML server webpage with WICED. Furthermore I want to put dynamic content into JSON files and use AJAX to retrieve them in client browser. Late on maybe Websockets..... Is there a howto with step by step instruction?
How to create a make file with right resoruces and generate everything.
Thanks
Piwi
Show LessWhere should I get a WICED evaluation board?
BTW I'm based in China.
Thanks
I have a board which has an ST microprocessor and BCM Wiced module. The ST Micro uses ST Link for debug. I followed the thread
SN8000 WiFi Module with STM Discovery Board in my attempt to get STLink working. I know the OCD (V4) delivered with Wiced needs the configuration stlink.cfg to work so I grabbed the config file from the standard distribution of OCD to make it work.
My command is "snip.gpio-BCM943362WCD4-debug JTAG=stlink-v2 download"
I keep getting an error:
I'm working with Wiced 3.1.2 and trying to connect to the board but I keep getting:
Downloading Bootloader ...
"**** OpenOCD failed - ensure you have installed the driver from the drivers directory, and that the debugger is not running **** In Linux this may be due to USB access permissions. In a virtual machine it may be due to USB passthrough settings. Check in the task list that another OpenOCD process is not running. Check that you have the correct target and JTAG device plugged in. ****"
Downloading DCT ...

I've also experimented with a couple of variants of the config files to get it working with no changes.
Any ideas?
Show LessHi, Broadcom Support team
Can you give me an example of RSA relative functions? For instance:
rsa_init, rsa_free, rsa_public, rsa_private ......

Where I can download these files "WICED™ Evaluation Board User Guide Number: WICED-EUM2xx-R " from Page 6 of WICED Development System Quick Start Guide__MMPWICED-QSG203-R.pdf ? My evaluation board is WICED BCM943362WCD4. Thanks.
Show LessHi
This was reason of one of my problem , and I have mentioned this in another thread but didn't got a valid reply, so re-posting again.
When I use debug / run along with the build string for compiling and downloading a sample application causes the WiFi throughput to be very low.
How I measured this was when I used udp_transmit app
snip.udp_transmit-SN8000x-FreeRTOS-LwIP-debug download ,
I observed that the UDP packet creation+sending takes 8 milliseconds (same with download run also), But when I changed the build string to
snip.udp_transmit-SN8000x-FreeRTOS-LwIP download
The UDP packet creation+sending takes only about 400 microseconds.
This indicates a severe performance degradation while using debug or run in the build string.
What causes this behavior ?
Show LessDoes anybody at broadcom have a schematic of using the LPC17xx with the BCM943362. There is example code in the wiced\platform\mcu folder from which I could derive the connections but I thought I would ask before going down that path.
Along similar lines has anybody used the SDIO interface on the bigger LPC devices such as the 43xx to connect to a BCM943362.

Show LessHello,
I have problems with OTA upgrade...
If I try example:
make snip.ota_fr-BCM943362WCD4 download download_apps run
OTA runs and i can upgrade example app snip_scan-BCM943362WCD4.stripped.elf (size 275 KB)
All works fine. Also If I hold SW1 button and push reset, the FR_APP (OTA loader) is restored and OTA runs again.
But if I try upgrade apliance demo (demo.appliance-BCM943362WCD4) and load stripped.elf (size 523 KB)
app doesn`t run....
If try my custom app (size about 820 KB), app doesn`t run and I can`t restore FR_APP (OTA app).
It seems like all i owerwrited..
How should I modify makefile to produce smaller size elf file (exclude wifi firmware, DCT......)?
Is it possible?

Show LessHello Guys,
I have HTTP server. Some of my webcontent files are quite large 50-150KB. When I build for NetX_Duo, HTTP file requests are completed successfully. However, when I build for LWIP files get truncated when they get to the client, thus webcontent does not get properly displayed in the browser. Also none of the following HTTP requests are responded by the server. I am working with WICED 3.1.2. LWIP works ok with small files.
There have been a discussion : http://community.broadcom.com/message/9742#9742
But it does not seem to have been resolved.
Basically, I have noticed that LWIP fails to transfer large files in response to HTTP requests. I cannot figure out the size threshold yet.
Any ideas, how to resolve this limitation?
Many thanks.
Oleg
