Wi-Fi Combo Forum Discussions
Hi,
I'm not sure where to ask this question, so I'll start here. Please suggest a different forum if appropriate.
The BCM4334x (x=0,1) data sheets list Cisco CCX compliance. Is that with the WICED stack or does it also apply to available Linux drivers supported by Broadcom?
Thanks in advance!
Bill

I tried to find the undeclared variables but i didn't find any definition /declaration of such variables..
i created target name as:
demo.aws_iot.pub_sub.subscriber-BCM943362WCD4 download run
i changed the publicKey & Clien certificate file to my public key & client certificate..
As these variables are giving the path for certificate & private key..
Where should I declare them?
Thanks ,

Show LessHi,
Are there plans to support STM32 OTG FS and HS through WICED ? At present it seems to be unavailable in v3.3.1 and the platform definitions for supported STM32 cores are missing.
Thanks
Show LessRecently I checked out a sample app referenced on your forum that exercises, BLE, WiFi and MQTT broker communication with Watson IoT.
Sample App: BLE Central using TI CC2650 SensorTag and IBM Watson BCM4343W based IoT Quickstart...
After resolving a few build issues (detailed below), I was able to run the code on my Avnet BCM4343W IoT Starter Kit and connect with the IBM Watson IOT server
However, after roughly 2000 attributes are sent up to the IBM server (sometimes less than 2000) , the sample app eventually runs out of GKI blocks and hangs on an Assert().
I am not sure if it is related to the responsiveness of the quickstart.internetofthings.ibmcloud.com server at IBM. If I disable the publish calls to MQTT, the code will receive 250000+ measurements from the SensorTag BLE device without crashing.
Are there any known issues with the MQTT drivers in the WICED 3.5.2 platform or with the Sample App running as-is? We will need to use these drivers and perhaps you already know of a solution.
Build Issues:
The build make file sensortag_cloud.mk was missing some include paths to make the build work with the WICED SDK 3.5.2 platform.
I had to add the following:
$(NAME)_INCLUDES := .
$(NAME)_INCLUDES += ../../include
$(NAME)_INCLUDES += ../../../libraries/drivers/bluetooth_le/include
$(NAME)_INCLUDES += ../../../libraries/drivers/bluetooth_le/BTE
$(NAME)_INCLUDES += ../../../libraries/drivers/bluetooth_le/BTE/main
$(NAME)_INCLUDES += ../../../libraries/drivers/bluetooth_le/BTE/WICED
$(NAME)_INCLUDES += ../../../libraries/drivers/bluetooth_le/BTE/Components/stack/include
$(NAME)_INCLUDES += ../../../libraries/utilities/linked_list
$(NAME)_INCLUDES += ../../../libraries/protocols/MQTT
Without these changes, I could not get a clean build of the Sample App as downloaded from your forum

Hi,
I'm trying to download images using OpenOCD, but errors occured, any suggestion? Here is the log:

Show LessI am running two computers side by side. One is a HP Envy, W10 machine with a the BCM43142 network card installed and the other a six year old HP Pavillion with a Qualcom Atheros 802.11 a b g n dual band wireless network module installed. The "old" machine has ookla test speeds three times as fast as the new Broadcom card, which had been tested off site by HP and determined working in proper order with the most current driver installed in the unit. The HP tech further stated the Broadcom card had a limit to the maximum wi fi speed which is less than the six year old Qualcom card. Is this possible? And if so, is there a Broadcom product that provides faster wi fi speeds equivalent or better than the Qualcom unit?
Show LessMy team is in the process of developing a product that supports both WiFi and Bluetooth LE functionality. We are using the Avnet BCM4343W IoT Starter Kit as our development board. Looking through your forums, reference code and such I am not finding much information that describes the Bluetooth LE API contained within the Wiced SDK (not the Wiced Smart SDK).
Specifically we need information on the configuration of the API to implement a GATT Peripheral device. The device would take a "server" role, providing information to a client device that connects to the peripheral.
With the help of the Avnet forum, they helped me find the following sample projects:
- snip/ble_hello_sensor
- snip/ble_proximity_reporter
With regard to the GATT implementation, is there an API definition for how Wiced SDK supports this? It would be helpful to know more on defining the GATT characteristic database, and how Notify/Indication operations are initiated by the server device. How does the BLE stack interact with the power management aspects of the WICED stack?
Broadcom offers the Wiced Smart SDK, but the Avnet development board is not compatible with this platform, so we can not take advantage of the Bluetooth "Wizard" that you provide there.
Beyond the GATT implementation, I have a question for you regarding a BLE standard. In our design we have a need for the features of BLE but also we need to make a large one time transfer of data over bluetooth. The Bluetooth standard has a service called "Object Transfer Service" that allows for the transfer of Bulk data over a side L2CAP connection, using GATT to manage the actual transfer.
Does the Broadcom WICED platform conform with this standard? If so, can you please forward to me the definition of the API to support this standard. Reference code would also be appreciated.

Show LessHi,
Where can i find document on functions related to wiced Bluetooth?
For example: I would like to get more information on all the functions with prefix "wiced_bt_"
Also, on various Bluetooth events i want to get more information.
Thanks in Advance,

Show LessHi to all
Can you support products like BCM43602 and BCM43569 for distribution customers ?
What are the options to get those products for new design at customer ?
Thanks
