SPI flash

[WICED-SDK-2.2.1]

WICED OTA upgrade example relies on SPI flash availability. Does this mean that SPI flash is required for OTA upgrades?

Yes indeed, the WICED OTA upgrade example does rely on using an external SPI serial Flash.

If you want to use OTA upgrade & factory reset functionality (which are part of the WICED App Framework) "as-is" then you need to include a SPI serial Flash in your design.

You can of course chose to architect OTA upgrades any way that you like, but you will need to write the necessary code to implement your method.
