Studio Bluetooth Forum Discussions
I am supporting a customer using the CYW20704 and need some help answering some questions.
1. What is the difference between the A1 and A2 revisions of the silicon. Customer has both and would like to know what the errata on the A1 was that was fixed on A2.
2. Do we have any information on the Host Wake Signal operation in USB mode?
3. Do we have any information on the electrical specification for the Host Wake signal. is it open collector?
4. The customer has followed our reference design, which should allow them to inherit the Bluetooth QID. Do they inherit the certification (FCC CE etc) or what do they need to do to simplify this process?
Thanks
Show LessIn 2010, Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) was added to Bluetooth specification to enable connections between devices that only needed to send a few bytes of data to each other over a limited range. It focused on consuming less power compared to Bluetooth classic and other wireless technologies. As the Internet of Things (IoT) transitions from concept to execution, BLE can be found in a variety of applications, including automation, remote controllers, beacons, wireless sensor nodes, and many others. System designers are realizing they need to transfer more data than what was supported by older versions of the BLE specification. In addition, greater range would enable new applications like automation, asset tracking, and wireless sensor nodes. BLE v5.0 tries to address these needs and more to make BLE more IoT friendly. This article talks about features that are introduced in v5.0 and their significance. To read this article, please follow link what BLE v5.0 means to you.
Show LessHi, i use the demo board of CYW92070xV3_EVAL for near one month. And it now doesn't work smoothly. It often downloads failed and gives a hint that the CYW20706 was not detected. And i have checked the power supply and the driver, and they are all normal. Only when i reinstall the WICED-Studio-5.0, the demo board can then work. But after several hours,it will come the same question. Can you help to analyse the problem? Thanks.
Show LessBT800, Bluetooth v4.0 Class 1 HCI
The BT800 series of Class 1, USB HCI modules, and packaged USB Dongle, are Laird's first dual-mode Bluetoothv4.0 offerings, bringing support for Classic Bluetooth and Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) for operating system backed devices.
These modules present a Bluetooth standard HCI interface and have native support for Windows and Linux Bluetooth software stacks. BT800 devices are fully qualified as a Bluetooth Subsystem. This allows designers to integrate their existing pre-approved Bluetooth Host and Profile subsystem stacks to gain a Bluetooth END product approval for their products.
A fully featured, low-cost developer’s kit (DVK-BT800) is available for prototyping, debug and integration testing of the BT800 series modules and further reduces risk and time in development cycles.
Features
- Bluetooth v4.0 - Dual mode
- Classic Bluetooth
- Bluetooth Low Energy
- Compact footprint
- Class 1 output – 8 dBm
- USB, GPIO, I2S & PCM
- Industrial temperature range
- 64k EEPROM support for BLE HID Proxy
- Bluetooth SIG approvals
- FCC, IC, and CE approvals

Show LessHi team!
One of my customers would need a BT Audio Connection to a smart phone, and parallel to a BLE connection to a remote control.
Certified Module preferred. !
I2S interface needed to the host processor.
When will be Modules based on CYW20719 available ?
qty /y 20k

Show LessWhen I installed WICED 5.2.0.22, there was an error "Not enough free disk space on selected folder location. Selected location has only 1M space available, press OK to select a different location where there is at least 1000 M space available." However, the available space of my selected location is more than 50 G. I always tried the root directory of C disk, this error also happened.
One of my collegue, he successfully installed this SDK, but I don't know there is any difference between his PC with Mine.
Is there something wrong with this SDK or there is some confilct with other software?@
Show LessDear Forum,
I've found in datasheet that CYW20706 supports CTS wake up when talking about HCI UART
1. Low-power out-of-band BT_WAKE and HOST_WAKE signaling (datasheet section 1.1)
2. The CYW20706 UART can perform XON/XOFF flow control and includes hardware support for the Serial Line Input Protocol (SLIP).
It can also perform wake-on activity. For example, activity on the RX or CTS inputs can wake the chip from a sleep state (datasheet section 5.3)
Would you please tell how to implement the BT_WAKE or HOST_WAKE via UART?
Thanks!
Best Regards,
Tim Yu
Show LessHi,
i want to get the local bd address, and i use the library function (void wiced_bt_dev_read_local_addr(wiced_bt_device_address_t bd_addr)).
I print the bd_addr ,but it is an array of two bytes which are not equal to six in the sample code. I want to know the reason and if i can use the function
to get local bd address.
