WICED Studio Bluetooth

New Contributor

Hi guys,

I'm developing a HID device (keyboard/track pad combo) that requires a USB dongle for easy plug and play. After searching the cypress product range, the most suitable device combination/dev kit seems to be the wirelessUSB NX kit https://www.cypress.com/products/wirelessusb-nx . However that is no longer recommended. What is the most direct alternative?

I have currently demonstrated the device with a BLE chip and a BLE-USB bridge, but need to improve (mainly) cost and responsiveness.

The main drivers of this device design are low cost, low power consumption and, to a lesser extent, size.

Cheers,

Aaron

ps I'm new to the community, but have been using Cypress products for the last 3 years after transitioning from another manufacturer...

There are a couple of options:

1.

Take a look at the Laird BT85X family, which is based on our CYW20704 that supports USB 2.0 and Dual Mode BT (v5.0): BT85x Series | Laird Connectivity

2.

We also have a Cypress PSoC 4 BLE design here that you could use: https://www.cypress.com/documentation/development-kitsboards/cy5677-cysmart-bluetooth-low-energy-ble...
