Hi,
I'm trying to make the FX3 in the field programmable without having the need for the user to control jumpers.
The obvious thing that pops up in my head (having thought about it only very briefly) is controlling the PMOD signals with my FPGA.
The FX3 in my circuit is connected to a spartan 7 xilinx.
This seem doable but might introduce startup timing issues etc...
If I'm not mistaken...you CAN give a reset commando in the FX3s firmware that takes it through the bootloader again.
Surely, there must be an easy and cheap method i'm not thinking of right now to also set the PMODs from software?
Thanks!
Show LessHi,
Some customers returned their FX3 devices with a dead USB port on it (always SS section). The measured DC impedance on the SS diff pairs is completely different on a dead device from a working device. Our layout for ESD seems to be very optimal to me and we are using this ESD IC:
SP3010-04UTG Littelfuse Inc. | Circuit Protection | DigiKey
I would like to have some feedback from Cypress about this.
By the way, the case of the USB connector is not directly connected to GND of the PCB. The GND of the USB connector is connected to the PCB GND through a passif filter as we saw on many designs.
Thanks,
Denis Alain, Eng.
Show LessHello,
I am trying to print the UART Debugprints of FX3 using Teraterm. But the problem is that I am getting garbage data in teraterm as attached.I checked UART Configurations such as BaudRate,Parity etc on both sides i.e PC and FX3.But Still I am getting the same. Can anyone help me for this?
Regards,
Sai Kumar.
Show LessHello,
Actually we are not getting debug prints correctly instead we are getting random data in Teraterm. This is the reason I am not able to send debugprints right now.Already we are working on that I will share once it is success.

Show LessHello,
I want to collect the incoming data from FPGA through GPIF II .For that I am using AN65974 GPIF without any changes but I am not able to get the data that is sent from FPGA.Which GPIF II State machine is best suited for this application?Anyone worked on the same application please let me know.

Show LessHello Cypress Community,
I want to know if it is possible to assign for the same usb endpoint one Dma multi channel and one Dma Channel ?
Because i 'm trying to change the way to detect the End Of Frame(actually we check if we have a partial buffer), in my idea is to generate an interrupt(INTR_CPU) from the state machine whatever if we have a partial or a full buffer, only on Frame Valid Low, and then send to the PC, by the same USB endpoint that is used for the streaming, a packet to indicate the EOF.
Or, second solution, create a second bulk endpoint, this will be used for sending short packet just to tell to the computer the EOF. But the problem in this solution, i m not sure how to send the packet into the ISR context(from INTR_CPU) because we cannot use directly DMA Channel Api (maybe a DmaSocketWrapUp will work but not sure at all).
Doo you have any idea to do that ?
Thank you,
JZ
Show LessHi,
I'm currently using the EZ-USB FX3 SDK v1.3.3 but cannot build the F/W normally on window 10 platform.
As a result of building the same source code on Windows 7, I had confirmed that there is a mismatch by the binary level between windows 10 and windows 7.
Could you let me know the suitable SDK version that Windows10 is officially supported? or provide the solution for above issue?
Please let me know if you need more information.
Best regards,
Shohei
Show LessHello,
I had to update to win10 and installed VS2015 again to build the cyusb3 drivers from the sources that are provided in the CYUSB3_USB_Suite_Source.zip file.
As far as I can tell I have everything updated, SDK and WDK as required in readme file.
When I open the project file file cyusb3_win10.sln I get a weird error.
C:\test\VS2015\CyUSB3_Source\src\cyusb3_win10.vcxproj : error : Unable to read the project file "cyusb3_win10.vcxproj".
C:\test\VS2015\CyUSB3_Source\src\cyusb3_win10.vcxproj(39,5): The imported project "C:\Program Files (x86)\MSBuild\Microsoft.Cpp\v4.0\V140\WDKConversion\PreConfiguration.props" was not found. Confirm that the path in the <Import> declaration is correct, and that the file exists on disk.
This file does not exist and the "WDKConversion" subfolder is empty.
What additional souces/tools do I need to install to compile the dirver succesfully?
Show LessIs there any reason that simple Eclipse plugin that creates toolbar button is not even loaded in EZ USB Suite?
BTW same plugin works with regular Eclipse 4.x
Is there any workaround for that?
Thanks
Show LessHi,
I want to send a big vector(saved in text file) to output by streamer. In default code, it is constant value(0xEF). Is there any example code or clue to help me?
Thanks
