Hello guys,
We would like to develop our custom PC software that will communicate with UVC class device. We strongly believe application note AN75779 is great starting point for us.
To the best of my understanding, in order to play video streams from Aptina MT9M114 sensor board with VLC player, we would need the following pieces of hardware:
- CYUSB3KIT-003 development kit
- Aptina MT9M114 Image Sensor Baord
- Adapter board for connecting Aptina sensor with USB3 Kit
Would you, guys, be so kind to confirm that the above list is all we need?
Thank you very much for your time and efforts.
Sincerely,
Bojan.

Hi Bojan,
The recommended parts by Cypress for developing a UVC based application would be the following:
1.) CYUSB3KIT-003 FX3 Development Kit
2.) CYUSB3AAC-004A On Semi InterConnect Board for CYUSB3KIT-003
3.) MT9M114EBLSTCZH3-GEVB On Semi Image Sensor Board
The data sheet for the image sensor can be found here: https://www.onsemi.com/pub/Collateral/EVBUM2524-D.PDF
The change in the parts is because ON SEMI acquired Aptina and released a new image sensor board and for it to be compatible with FX3 Superspeed Explorer Kit, a interconnect board was released as mentioned above.
There is no longer support for the Aptina image sensor board that you have mentioned.
Hope this helps!!!
Regards,
Yashwant
