Hello,
I followed John Hyde example for I2C dual console present in "SuperSpeed devices design by example" book.
I face an issue where I cannot program CY7C65215 device to use I2C bus on SCB0.
Cyrpress USB-Serial configuration utility returns me "programming failed"
Have you ever encountered such an issue ?
Regards
Christophe

Hi Christophe,
You need to reset the device after programming it.
You can do it in two ways
1) In the USB serial Configuration Utility Device> Device Reset
2) Re-Plugging the FX3 kit
I have reproduced the same as in your previous response. Please refer the attachment. It works fine.

Rashi

Hi Christophe,
Are you using FX3 Superspeed Explorer Kit for this example?
Can you also try with other configurations i.e for default USB or SCB0 > SPI. Are they working fine?

Rashi

Hi Christophe,
Can you try using this utility on different PC?
Are you using 2.0.3.120 version of the utility? Which version are you using?
Also, if you are having another FX3 superspeed board can you try with also?
Regards,
Rashi

Rashi,
I am using version 2.0.3.118 of the tool.
I have no other board to test with, but I'll give a try with another PC

Rashi,
I could not find 2.0.3.120 version, but instead I was able to install 2.0.3.119 via USBSerialSDK I could download on Cypress website.
This solved my issue for programming.
Now, I face another issue related to the way this device is seen by Windows.
Before programming attempt, I could see a COM device there, allowing to run application examples with UART debug under a simple terminal.
Now, and even after reprogramming SCB0 for UART (that I guess was initial configuration) I cannot see COM device there.
Only thing I see in peripheral list are 3 "USB-Serial (Dual Channel)" devices that I cannot use with terminal.
Up to now I did not find any satisfying answer to such issue.

Hi Rashi,
Thanks for clarification. I was able to make it run with new prog + unplug/replug.
This solved my issue.
Thanks a lot
