Que: 1 when cascading two hubs can we keep address of EEPROM connected with each hub same or different, host software (blaster plus tool) can access both EEPROM for configuration with same EEPROM address?

Que: 2 We are cascading 9 hubs and using 9 EEPROMs for their configuration can we individually access and configure these EEPROM by using blaster plus tool?

Hello,

1. You could configure the EEPROM address as per your requirement using the "Configure I2C" option in Blaster Plus. Even if you keep the EEPROM addresses same, it shouldnt be an issue since only one is connected to each HX3 and you will be writing to the EEPROM using the corresponding hub.

2. Yes, it should be possible. You could ensure that only one hub is bound to the vendor driver at a time to avoid confusion or change the VID, PID or String Descriptor to distinguish between them. Please also refer to Page 13 in the App Note for guidelines on using the same EEPROM for multiple hubs.

Best Regards,
Sananya
