USB hosts hubs transceivers Forum Discussions
Hi,
I am working on a hardware (which acts as host) where it has USB 2.0 ports and connects to tablet over USB 2.0 (tablet acts as device).
I am able to communicate with tablet (using RNDIS) and need to supply the power it as well. Need of the power supply is 3A at 5V which I would not be able to do from my hardware.
I have a separate power source which can give me 5V - 3A and wnated to know if there is any way I can combine with USB (as there is only USB micro getting connected to tablet) using some thing like Y connector. Or do you have any suggestion using any hub (like cypress HX3 or similar) which can do this?
With best regards,
P.
Show LessHi,
If the OVR function is not going to be used in CY7C65634, what should these pins be connected in the schematic?
Should they be connected to ground or simply leave them to be open and unconnected?

Show LessI have a system with a custom USB-C hub/interface board that supports many test modules. Each test module contains a USB3 device and USB2 device. Shared Link would be attractive if I could connect each of these test modules to a single port in a Cypress hub on the hub/interface board.
I see that the HX3 datasheet requires separate VBUS controls for the embedded devices. Could the system meet this requirement by sending VBUS control info over the SBU pins after negotiating a proprietary alternate mode over USB Type-C PD?
I see that Shared Link requires that the USB3 device be present from power-up onward. Is there a firmware-accessible reset that our hub/interface board processor could trigger when one of our devices is plugged in? If not, would the system work if we only power-up the HX3 when all devices are stable and somehow disable ports that do not have USB3 devices when we power up?
Thank you,
Jon
Show LessHi,
For an upcoming USb2.0 hub design, we are using CY7C65632 along with USB3320 USB transceiver chip. The design should have 4 ports and we followed the reference design given by cypress. But we have certain queries in the same and it would be great if someone can clarify those for us.
- We have shared our schematics of hub section. Kindly confirm if we have missed out something in that
- In the reference design, there is a section which involves fuse and a voltage divider section comprising of R19, R20, R21, R22 etc. We have highlighted that section. what is the functionality of that section? is it needed?
- There is an i2C EEPROM in design for configuring descriptors. If we remove that from design, it will work with default configuration right?
- Is individual /gang mode widely used?
- Is the design is EMI/EMC compliant?
- Do we need to add any additional circuitry for EMI/EMC compliance? If there is any reference design, please let us know

Hi,
Looking at using HX3PD, but need two additional type-c ports.
Is it possible/easy (in fw) to add CC capability to port 4 & 5 using a separate CCGx part!?
thanks David
Show LessHello,
I'm using the CYUSB3304-68LTXC in my design and I'm having trouble getting it to work. I am trying to download the HX3 firmware using an external I2C master, but the HX3 is unresponsive. I have an I2C GPIO that is working but the HX3 is unresponsive.
I suspect that this is a hardware issue, below is my schematic. I didn't use a power switch and left PWR_EN and SUSPEND NC, I was hoping those wouldn't be necessary but maybe they are and that's why this isn't working. If you have any other ideas on why this isn't working or how I could improve my design please let me know.

I am using CY7C65213-28PVXI directly replacing FTDI# FT232RL but not able to work it,will you please suggest that whether i can directly use the ic or i need to do some changes in the circuit.

Will the CY7C65631 function as Hi-Speed hub without an EEPROM?
Hi to all,
we used CYUSB3314 in previous project.
Are there any known issues with Windows 10?
Are there known issues with different REV or DateCode?
DATE CODE "1401 A" seems to work, but "1443 C" returns windows error like "(CM_PROB_FAILED_ADD)" and followed by "ENUMERATION failed" .
Here output from USB Tree View:

Hello,
Does HX3PD device supports Compliance Mode state in LTSSM?
And can I check the SS transaction wave on HX3PD Evaluation board?
