USB hosts hubs transceivers Forum Discussions
I must update the firmware of two cascaded HX hosts. They both have their external EEPROM (HX3 master). Unfortunately, I can only reach the first host with Blaster Plus tool. FW update works fine for this one. Unfortunately it's not possible for the second one.
According my understanding, the FW is stored in the external EEPROM.
Is there any possibility to write the FW directly to this external memory?
Any other suggestions how to trip the first host and access the second one by Blaster Plus?
Show LessHello,
I have a device connected to HX3. The FW of my device can be updated by USB. After the FW update the device can be detected again only unplugging and re-plugging it.
Using the CY4609 I noticed that pressing the reset button on the hub after the FW update of the device, my software can detect it again as if it has been unplugged and re-plugged.
Is there a way to reset the HX3 with a software command instead of pressing the reset button?
Thank you in advance
Walter
Hello,
HX3 ACA- Dock feature works when tablet is ON and as soon as the tablet is rebooted it goes into reboot loop. Is there a way to avoid this.
I am designing this dock for a Lenovo TB-8504F android tablet. Also can you point me to the reference manual for the chipsets on CY4613 for programming.
Thanks,
Navjyot
Show LessHi all,
We're developing new product with embedded HX3 USB 3 Hub (CYUSB3304) and for EMC testing need to know the max frequency. The datasheet shows the 26MHz crystal clock going to internal PLL but doesn't give the output frequency, which seems odd. Does anyone know the PLL frequency or where to find the data?
I've seen data for USB hubs from other vendors with internal clocks of around 250MHz. Is this fairly standard for all USB 3 chips?
Thanks in advance
Andrew
Show LessHi, after following HX3 Blaster Plus User Guide, Doc. No. 001-90185 Rev. *B instructions. Windows 7 cannot install the USB HUB driver. I tried to manually select drivers listed but got error code 10 or 31.
Is there a dedicate Window 7 driver for this device or other way to install this driver?
Show LessI have designed a board with cyusb3304-68ltxc,the downstream port connenct two cameras.
when the power is on,the two cameras are USB2.0 devices, next time the two

Show LessHi,
I am using CY7C65642 in my design along with CYPD-3120 and external USB device. During platform testing i see USB device stop responding if USB-C cable length is varied.
I bypass CY7C65642 and retested with same same USBC cable and then USB device start responding. With this experiment i am thinking is CY7C65642 introducing an side effect to see this behaviour.
Do CY team has any such case study to confirm the limitation with CY7C65642 and probably alternate solution.
Thank you,
Show LessHello,
I am looking for a solution that will allow me to control several hundred USB 2.0 memory stick hard drives. I know that Cypress is a leader when it comes to USB control. I also understand that it is possible to daisy chain up to 127 USB devices together. Is there a recommended structure to control 512 USB memory sticks from a single CPU? Any advice is appreciated.
All the best,
Max
