USB hosts hubs transceivers Forum Discussions
Dear all,
I have just received Life Cycle information from IHS/Manufacturer that this Hub-Controller is not recommended for new designs. If this is the case, can you please recommend a substitute?

Show Lesshello sir,
i want to install and download ''HX3 cypress blaster plus tool'' . is this free to download and for use?
Dear All,
What is difference between CY7C65630 and CY7C65631.
Datasheet says HX2LP-Lite(CY7C65631) is ultra-low power device, but I could not find ultra-low power specifications against the HX2LP(CY7C65630) on the datasheet.
Could you tell me what is ultra low-power?

Hello.
Customer asked if the USB 2.0 hub works the command in Compliance mode.
I don't know the meaning.
Could you explain it?
Thanks and Best regards.
Glenn.

Hi ,
Good day.
I'm writing the email weather CYUSB3333/3343 supports embedded flash and programming.
if yes, could you help to provide the programming spec for this MPN?
We just referred to HX3PD programming spec to support CYUSB43xx.
Thank you.

Show LessFor my given application, I need to have more than 2 downstream USB Type A Super Speed+ Ports. Here is the list of Downstream ports as described in the datasheet:
As there are 3 USB-C connections with 10GB/s bandwidth, I was wondering if it is possible to use these with a Type-A connector? Such as the connector shown below:
My configuration would end up looking like:
DS1, DS3, DS4, DS5 -> USB A
Thank you,
Greg
Show LessLooking for thermal metrics (thermal resistances) on this component (CY7C65631-56LTXI) to do thermal analysis on a PCB being designed with this hub. Specifically looking for junction-to-board, junction-to-case (top), junction-to-case (bottom), and junction-to-ambient thermal resistances. These values are common to most datasheets, yet do not appear in this one: https://www.cypress.com/file/119991/download
Show LessThere's a block of metal that's screwed on through the PCB on several USB-C kits. It's referred to as B12. It is NOT listed in the BOM. Is there any definition of that part so it can be purchased or re-built to protect the port?
Reference B12 on the Base Board schematic of CY4531 and CY4521 next to J3.

Show LessWhat is the process to verify USB compliance for any Infineon component that supports USB?
I found an obsolete document that had listed products that were compliant: "USB COMPLIANCE TESTING OVERVIEW - AN023" @ https://www.cypress.com/documentation/application-notes-obsolete/an023-usb-compliance-testing-overview <-- Is there an updated version available for public view?
Another page I found instructs an e-mail be sent to hx3@infineon.com to request an individual report for one specific product, "HX3 USB 3.0 HUB Controller Certification Report (USB-IF, WHQL, CE)". If that e-mail is intended to support requests to obtain compliance reports for any USB product, it would be helpful if it was linked to each product, searchable using the words "USB Compliance", or listed on the "USB COMPLIANCE TESTING OVERVIEW AN023" page.
Aside: An alternate approach to verifying compliance through USB.ORG appears to require a log-in to search. Reference products list linked @ https://www.usb.org/compliance and https://www.usb.org/products .

Show LessHi!
We are using CY7C65634 for an integrated hub function. However, we have experienced bad USB performance in certain scenarios such as streaming USB audio. When we by-passed the hub the problem disappeared.
One theory is that the XIN clock signal is not good enough. Due to space constraints we couldn't use the large crystal from the reference design and instead we selected an SMD MEMS clock oscillator , ASEM1-12.000MHZ-LC-T.
When we look at the XIN clock signal it doesn't look so good, see attached file. From -1V to 4.5V.
Could you recommend a suitable clock or crystal CY7C65634 that has a small footprint / low height, ideally a SMD solution? Or if we go for a clock (not crystal), what parameters are important?
Cheers
Olof
