New Contributor II

Dears.

My customer wants to use cypress Hub solution to implement 1 Upstream & 30
Downstreem ports(USB 2.0) Hub
and is wondering that is possible to do it in reality or not.

If you have any cypress robust solution, please give me your recommendation and how to implement it especially in Hardware.

Hello Wonjin Han,

Yes, since you will need 30 downstream ports, there should be 3 tiers like you have shown in the diagram. There shouldnt be any issue since the hub is compliant upto 5 tiers as per the USB spec and shouldnt cause any data communication or power issues.

Hello Wonjin Han,

It is ideally possible to implement 30 downstream ports using three tiers of our USB 2.0 HX2VL which has 4 downstream ports. We dont have any reference design currently. For designing your board, please follow the hardware guidelines from the application note-

Hello Sananya.

Thank you for your comment.

Could you give me some tips about "using three tiers of our USB 2.0 HX2VL"

You mean like the following diagram ?

If it is  implemented like this, is there any technical pitfall in the manner of power management or data communication or ... etc ?
