USB EZ-PD™ Type-C Forum Discussions
Hi, I would like to confirm if every cypress PD Device CYPD6227-96BZXI programmed with basic firmware when the part is shipped out from cypress factory. What are the basic functions of this firmware?

Hello
The CC pin and VBUS are exposed when viewed from the outside, such as when Type-C is inserted and removed continuously, and when the connector is first inserted, 5V is momentarily applied to the IC or FET.
As a result, there is a question as to whether it will damage over and over again. Also, they want to know if it has the proof stress to withstand noise such as static electricity. Furthermore, there are only capacitors on the CC pin and VBUS lines.
Q) What is the durability of CYPD3177 regarding the above concerns?

Hi,
I am trying to use the CYPD3177 over I2C to control a USB-PD SRC. After connecting a USB-PD 100W supply:
- FLIP signal rises from 0 to 3v3
- USBPD Bus rises from 0 to 5V
- Activity on CC pins (assuming successful negotiation)
The hardware seems happy. But i am getting strange results from the I2C reads:
DEVICE_MODE returns 0x95 instead of quoted "always returns 0x92". I've attached the bus transaction.
Other registers such as status, silicon ID return 0 over successful I2C reads. It's like my IC has been disabled for I2C mode.
Any ideas?
Evan
Show LessDear Sir/Madam,
Please help to check the CYUSB4347 USB3.1 Gen2 (10Gbps) Hub is there suitable for the below application.
CYUSB4347's UpStream port attached to PC Host Port with USB3.1 Gen2 (10Gbps).
A USB3.0 Device (5Gbps operate in Isochronous Mode with 3Gbps payload) connected to CYUSB4347 DS4 port, that is works fine on data transfer from Device to PC.
But when attaching one more USB3.0 Device (same device as above) connected to CYUSB4347 DS5 port (i.e. 2 devices connected to CYUSB4347 DS ports at the same time), this device cannot get enough resources from PC Host for data transfer.
Please help to evaluate.
Best regards,
Ping
Show LessIs there a 3D model of the PCBs contained in the CY4531 EZ-PD CCG3 Evaluation Kit? I would like to have a .x_t, .stp, .step file type if possible.
Show LessDear Sir,
Our customer have a new project for Two Type-C port charge through power adapter with wireless charging as attached picture "ChargeThroughPowerAdapter.jpg".
Cypress have a EZ-PD? CCG3 USB Type-C Charge-Through Dongle , but it is not very match with the application.
For chip select, the customer expect to use one chip solution first.
Could you help to suggest which chip we should use ? CYPD4236-40LQXIT ?
Is there any reference solution to us ?
Best Regards,
Cloud Chen.
Show LessHi,
The PMG1-S1 has an internal USB2.0 data mux (USBDP_TOP/USBDM_TOP and USBDP_BOT/USBDM_BOT). For our charger application, we do not need USB data. We have some questions in regards to this:
1. Can we omit connections to USBD*_TOP and USBD*_BOT? If yes, can we leave them floating or should we tie them to ground? I couldn't find this information in the datasheet.
2. Is there any additional feature of this USB connection other than the MUX? For example, can the USB interface be used to configure the PMG1-S1?
Thanks,
Jonathan
Hi,
On our board we have 2 devices CYPD5225.
Is it possible to link on the same SWD I2C bus the two devices ?
I am using the "PSOC Programmer 3.29.1" tool to program the devices, i have not found how to set a different I2C address for the 2 devices.
How can I set 2 different SWD I2C address on the device CYPD5225 ?
How can i set the SWD address in the tool "PSOC Programmer 3.29.1" ?
Do i need to connected the XRES# signal to the tool or is there an option in the tool "PSOC Programmer 3.29.1" to program the device CYPD5225 without the signal XRES# ?
Thank you for help,
Best regards,
TD83.

Hi,
On our board we are using the device CYPD5225 with a Tiger Lake.
The Tiger Lake supports DP++ Display over Type-C ports.
In DisplayPort mode the bus AUX+/- is connected to the SBU1/2 pin
In HDMI mode the bus I2C SCL/SDA is connected to the SBU1/2 pin
Is it possible to MUX these two signal inside the device CYPD2525 with the balls AUX+_P1/AUX-P1 and the balls LSRX_P1/LSTX_P1 ?
Thank you for help,
Best regards

Show LessHi,
In the device CYPD5225, the signal SWD_CLK/I2C_CFG_EC/ GPIO configure the I2C address of HPI interface.
What is the HPI interface ?
Is it the I2C bus between the CYPD5225 (I2C_SDA_SCB1_EC/I2C_SCL_SCB1_EC) and the Embeded Controller (EC)?
Is it a slave address or a master address for the CYPD5225 ?
Thank you for help,
