USB EZ-PD™ Type-C Forum Discussions
Hello,
Where can I get the programming files for the main project after building the three projects that are in the CYPD3125-40LQXI_notebook workspace? Is it in CYPD3125-40LQXI_notebook\CYPD3125-40LQXI_notebook.cydsn\CortexM0\ARM_MDK_Generic\Debug?
There is two programming files. One is called CYPD3125-40LQXI_notebook_1.cyacd and the other is called CYPD3125-40LQXI_notebook_2.cyacd. Is the notebook_1 come from the backup_fw and the notebook_2 come from the main project?
Thank you
Best Regards,
Patrice
Show LessHello,
I have installed Keil MDK v5.26 in order to get the ARMCC compiler. When I built the 'CYPD3125-40LQXI_notebook' project, that is the project for the CCG3 evaluation kit, I get an error related to cyelftool.exe that cannot be located.
Here is the message:
C:\IIM\Echo700\USB Type-C Controller\Firmware\Revision G0\CYPD3125-40LQXI_01-Test\CYPD3125-40LQXI_notebook\CYPD3125-40LQXI_notebook.cydsn>cyelftool.exe -M CortexM0\ARM_MDK_Generic\Debug\CYPD3125-40LQXI_notebook.elf backup_fw.cydsn\CortexM0\ARM_MDK_Generic\Debug\backup_fw_1.elf CortexM0\ARM_MDK_Generic\Debug\CYPD3125-40LQXI_notebook.hex --flash_row_size 128 --flash_size 131072 --flash_array_size 131072
'cyelftool.exe' is not recognized as an internal or external command,
operable program or batch file.
"Post-Build Script failed: could not locate cyelftool.exe"
The command '.\post_build.bat' failed with exit code '9009'.
How can I repair that error?
Thank you
Best Regards,
Patrice
Show LessFor the CYPD3125 (CCG3) PD chip, where are the HPI user defined registers located? From both the PD firmware's perspective and the HPI I2C addressing?
Show LessTo confirm that the bootloader is running, I'm toggling 2 GPIO pins to indicate that I've entered main() in the bootloader. If I build the bootloader project and load the hex file into the CCG3 I see the pins toggle when the device is powered on. If I specify this bootloader in the bootloadable component in my main project I don't see these pins toggle when the device powers on. Am I missing something on how this firmware runs?
Show LessDear Community Members,
We have designed our custom board with external PMIC (ACT4751) to control VBUS.
To start the development process,
First
We have imported the "CYPD3171-24LQXQ_cla" Project as a base, changed the target MCU to CYPD-3175, and tried flashing it as it is. As expected VBUS is not controlled and stayed at 5V. but we were able to attach a debugger to the running target and get the "TypeC attach" app event.
Then
We want to debug the app and understand the flow of the event. This will help in including the I2C command to control VBUS using ACT4751.
But when we disabled the bootable component and set "CCG_FIRMWARE_APP_ONLY" to 1, the app compiles fines but fails to upload with HexParse error (Checksum invalid). We looked at generated hex file and it has 0 padding for the initial 0x1000 location. when have verified linked script and address seem to be correct.
Please guide me to disable the bootable components properly.
Dear all,
First of, apologies if I've missed this as a FAQ, but haven't been able to find a similar query.
I'm looking into designing a multi-port rear seat charger with the CCG3PA. So far, I've not been able to find any design resources (such as datasheets and reference designs ...etc) on the Infineon website.
Am I missing something? is there a process to go through, in order to gain access?
Thanks in advance.
Hi,
I am using CCG3PA board in my device to work as PD source and QC source.
It was working as PD source fine but it is not working as QC source when i connect it to QC sink.
How can i switch ccg3pa from PD to QC mode?
All QC related flags are set in my code BATTERY_CHARGING_ENABLE and below provided with my EZ-PD configuration utility screenshot.
When i connected a sniffer between My device and sink it is sending Source capabilities for some time and then vbus is droping to zero when there is no response from sink.
Is there any Flags i am missing to enable ? can you suggest procedure to switch between PD source mode to QC source mode?
Thankyou.

I'm working on the firmware of CYPD5235-
96BZXI.I hope I can change PDO settings but
the "EZ-PD configuration utility" doesn't
seems support my chip. Then I noticed
"Thunderbolt device configuration utility" in
https://www.infineon.com/cms/en/product/evaluation-boards/vd_usb_thunderbolt_ref/.So I want to
know how can I get it.
Customer use CCG7D and IPZ40N04S5L-4R8 to design Rear-Seat Charger.
now they have two questions about temperature, because currently the MOS Surface temperature is 100 °C
They want to know Tc to set OTP condition :
1. how to calculate Tc value? ( CCG7D and IPZ40N04S5L-4R8)
2. What is maximum Tc value ( CCG7D and IPZ40N04S5L-4R8)
Show LessHello.
I wonder if it's possible to use CCG4 device for CTD application.
Infineon's CTD design recommended to use CCG3 + CCG2. but CCG4 have 2 PD controllers.
Q1. Please let me know if it's possible.
Q2. In case of CTD, Does it recommend CCG3+CCG2?
the brief requirements as below
[Common]
-USB 3.0 Type A 2ports / DP port / DRP Power role(external TA is connected or not)
[Port0]
-Receptacle UpStream port for connecting Host(Table, nootbook)
-Mux(for Receptacle), USB 3.0 HUB(for 2 TypeA port)
-DP port(2 lane)
-Power supply to Host or Power sink from Host
[Port1]
-Receptacle for PD power sink from external PD TA(Max 60W)
Regards.
Robert.
