Hi there.
Our customer developed a base board based on our core CPU module, which uses USB4.0 bus to extend CYPD5225-96BZXI + JHL8040R to realize the TBT4 type-C functional interface.
But now the problem is: as long as the power on, TBT4 type-c connected to the USB peripheral, the motherboard will not start, and unplug the USB peripheral, the motherboard can start normally;
So to find out.
1.CYPD5225-96BZXI What considerations are needed for design;
2、CYPD5225-96BZXI Is there a relevant reference schematic?
3、D2 "I2C_SDA_SCB2 "、E2 "I2C_SCL_SCB2 " What is the address bit corresponding to this group of I2c signals? And our CPU module (as Master), I2C bus need to communicate with CCG5, what are the requirements of I2C address?
4、Our related schematic diagram

Show LessHello
Q1)Does CYPD7191-40LDXS support both Miniprog3 and Miniprog4?
Q2)It seems that the CYPD72xx product is compatible with PSoC programmers, but does it not support the CYPD7191-40LDXS? It can't seem to select a CYPD7191-40LDXS of device.
Q3) Or can I select the device using Cypress programmer?
Q4)Is FW development for CYPD7191-40LDXS done with ModusToolBox?
Q5)Are there any programming related materials regarding the above CCG7S?
Please answer each question(Q1 ~Q5)
Best Regards
Show LessDear Infineonistas,
Looking at the UM_2212_PL91_2301_134027 document titled: “Hardware design guidelines for EZ-PD™ CCG7D in automotive applications”
I was revisting the calculations on pages 39 and 40 and found that in order to achieve the values of the
plant pole-1 fpplant = 1,1kHz the calculation of the Cout is different than the sum calculated in Table 5 on page 39.
Following the data on table 5 the sum Cout = 106 + 5,6 = 111,6 uF
Following the calculation on table 6 Cout must be 85,6 uF for the Ro = Vout/Iout = 5V/3A = 1,67 Ohm
This value of Cout (85,6 uF) is confirmed by the following calculation Plant zero fzplant = 92 kHz
Is there an explanation so I can follow it in my design?
That would be of great help.
Thank you
Jousif
Show LessHi Infineon Support,
Thank you for your support.
Please tell me about CYPM1111.
CYPM1111 is equipped with SROM. Is this SROM a regular flash? Also, please tell me the role of this SROM.
The data sheet only contains the following words, which I cannot fully understand.
”A supervisory ROM that contains boot and configuration routines is provided.”
Best regards,
Koki
Show LessHi Suppor,
Thank you for usual support.
I have question about document of CCG series Application Note.
I think CCG5 has integrated PFET Gate Driver for VBUS.
Table 1 of AN210403 states "No", but is this a typo? ?
Best regards,
Koki
Show LessHello support,
I believe that the linearity guarantee of the ADC has been verified, but is it possible to share the verification results ?
Best regards,
Koki
Show LessWe refer to CCG3PA datasheet to try to know CCG3PA power consumption.
but it only mentions about typical values measured at "VDDD = 5.0V"
What is the current consumption at "VDDD = 3.3V" ???
Our project will use two SCB and Type-PD function and GPIOs.

Show LessWe used the CYPD3177 parts a few times and I see there are CYPD3176 and CYPD3178 available now.
When we used this part, we ran into an issue when connecting to a USB-A type jack/cable. If we connected to a USB-PD capable host, we were able to negotiate the 12V we wanted. If the device could not negotiate the 12V, it would back off to 5V and we would then use the SAFE_PWR_EN controlled FETS to power our 5V side. When we connected this to a USB-A type jack that did not have any PD smarts, we expected the part to use the 5V SAFE_PWR_EN path, but it did not, it used the main path as if it negotiated a higher voltage.
I was wondering if they made a firmware change or enable this behavior to be changed via I2C register changes, or maybe the 3176 or 3178 parts behave in the preferred way. Ideally if there is not a PD device and this part is powered from a dumb USB-A type cable that only has 5V, then it would use the SAFE_PWR_EN FETS.
Show LessI am having trouble using EZ-PD Protocol Analyzer version 4.0.0 on Windows 11. The situation is that the driver is not properly applied and the CY4500 is not recognized.
Here are the details
EZ-PD Protocol Analyzer version 1.0.0 is recognized without any problem. However, when EZ-PD Protocol Analyzer 4.0.0 is additionally installed, the device is not recognized from version 4.0.0.
Therefore, I updated the firmware to CY4500_EZ-PD_ProtocolAnalyzer_FW_2_0_7_0.cyacd using Firmware_Update_tool. However, the device is not recognized even after the firmware update.
I found that the firmware update changed the PID of the CY4500 from 0x0078 to 0xF67E, and the Cypress driver is no longer used for the device.
This is probably the cause of the device not being recognized. After updating the firmware, the device is no longer recognized even with EZ-PD Protocol Analyzer version 1.0.0. If I revert the firmware to CY4500_EZ-PD_ProtocolAnalyzer_FW_1_0_0_32.cyacd, the device will be recognized from version 1.0.0 of the EZ-PD Protocol Analyzer.
We have a question about VBUS_FET_EN power path behave.
if BCR hw setting is VBUS_MIN = 5V, VBUS_MAX = 9V and ISNK_COARSE + ISNK_FINE = 0.9A (900mA)
, then connect it with Power adapter using "C to A cable".
In this codiftion, The CC voltage level should be 0.42V and without Type-C PD commuciation, right?
Will the VBUS_FET_EN power path be turned on? or SAFE_PWR_EN power path will be turned on becuase there is no Type-C PD commuciation.
---------------------------------------------------------------------
i just test CYPD3177 EVK that chip date code is "2149"
hw setting VBUS_MIN = 5V, VBUS_MAX = 9V and ISNK_COARSE + ISNK_FINE = "2A".
EVK connect with non-PD power adatper using C to A cable.
i measure the CC voltage is 0.4V, it means 5V@0.9A
but i saw fault LED doesn't turn on and SAFE_PWR_EN power path also dosen't turn on, why ?
